Cold air intake installed

Installed the cold air intake that's for a Focus ST. It fit pretty good and only had to make one mod to it, which is simple. If others buy this kit I can do a "how to do" for this, if needed.

The one pic shows the cobb like intake installed and the vac line port on the tube that i had to mod/install. Other than that, it's pretty much a direct bolt in kit. Didn't drive it since I had to go back to work but i'll see how she feels later tonight.

Installed the cold air intake that's for a Focus ST. It fit pretty good and only had to make one mod to it, which is simple. If others buy this kit I can do a "how to do" for this. First pic is it completed with the engine cover on.

The one pic shows the cobb like intake installed and the vac line port on the tube that i had to mod/install. Other than that, it's pretty much a direct bolt in kit. Another pick shows the oem tube vs the 3 inch tube from the kit and then a pic of the kit, minus the filter. but it does come with a K&N filter. Didn't drive it since I had to go back to work but i'll see how she feels later tonight.

What'd you have to do to the vacuum line port?

The Focus ST doesn't have that vac port on the oem tube like ours. I cut off the stock one, tapped and drilled a hole for it on the new intake tube. Then tapped it in. If you don't want to cut the one off of the oem tube, it wouldn't be hard to get a vac port and use that too.

intake

In this pic, you can see both tubes. The bottom oem tube, if you look to the right of the tube, you can see the foot that gets bolted down, then right beside it is a vac line nipple. Then if you look at the top intake tube, you can see the foot but to the right of it is no vac line nipple. I basically just tapped it, used a 3/8's drill bit, used my dremel to slightly smooth the hole, cut the stock oem vac nipple off, and tapped it into the new intake with a dab of black rtv. I would test fit it first and mark where you want to drill so you know where that vac line comes up too. If you go to far up or over, it might not reach since the line isn't that long. Though the fix then would to be cut off the vac line connector, and use a rubbe vac hose to make it reach. But the way I did it is so you can retain the factory style connector.

Appreciate it The truck has gone through a ported eaton, to a M122, to a H122 it has now. She'll def scream down the street. Detuned she makes 489rwhp. Once i get my built block, i'll see what she can really make.

I did the Green Filter setup on mine where some of the filter is outside the air box which so far I have seen (if you can believe the computer) 1.3 mpg better... and when you stand on it my butt dyno feels more power. Now I realize this is an escape and it will not run like my Shelby or Hayabusa...but with that said I am always looking for a little more..LOL I really want to put an exhaust on but seems like choices are limited and for sure don't want something with a drone.

That's how I am too. If I can help it make power, I'll try. If it was a non turbo 2.0, I wouldn't bother. But turbo...now we are talking. I want an exhaust but I don't won't that ricer coffee can sound.
