perimeter alarm

can someone tell what it is? :eek:and how is it set? can not find info in the owners manual thanks

The factory alarm, which is a perimeter alarm. It arms when you press the lock button on the factory remote, and will trip when a door is opened without first pressing the unlock button on the remote.

so is that what they are calling the anti-theft alarm on page 63 in the owners manual??

No, it won't autolock/auto-arm itself unless it's an available and programmable feature. Factory alarms seldom offer flexibility, despite their steep price.

With the Ford factory alarms, though, I think the only add-on option is a shock sensor... Could be wrong.

Some B & $ marketing by Ford to make you feel like your getting more for your money.

Lawyers need to scrutinize these options for what they truly are and then maybe they would not be so vague.

Perimeter alarm like if any thing is opened on the Perimeter of the car like doors, hatch and possibly hood, to say security system people may think that it is also shock sensitive
