It seems to be getting the same fuel economy as our 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. It hovers around 10 to 10.2 litres per 100km for us in both vehicles - I even see 9.x sometimes in the Caravan (sorry I'm Canadian so we go by litres/kilometers lol). I think my old 1999 Grand Am GT 3.4L V6 used to get around that even (smaller vehicle I suppose). With the small tank in the Escape it seems like I'm filling up every 2 or 3 days (curious what size tanks my 99 Grand Am had vs the size tank in this Escape, will have to look it up later...).

I drive 47km one-way to work, and drive 90-100km/hr on country 1-lane roads (very few stops along the way and I use cruise control 80%+ of the time). I use regular gas (not premium).

Thanks in advance

EDIT:
Ford.ca says: "11.5 L/100 km city, 8.7 L/100 km hwy, 10.2 L/100 km combined*" <-- for 2.0 AWD. So I guess I'm not that far off? I mean I don't drive in the city, I'm essentially a "highway driver", so I was hoping I'd get closed to 9.0-9.5 L/100km. I even took a 160km trip two days ago via 400-series highways (did 120km/hr cruise) and the number still stayed at 10.0... hmmmrph... 120km/hr too fast? *shrug*
10L/100 actually sounds pretty spot-on for a CUV. I just literally got mine home from the dealer today so it's not broken in, and I'll take a look at how it averages after 5000 km. But 10 sounds pretty good for this engine and vehicle size considering I was averaging about 14L/100 on a 5.7L hemi pickup truck and Honda Civic forum members are reporting only slightly better averages than 10L/100 so I would say you're doing pretty good.

Ummm. Sorry, this argument makes absolutely no sense at all. What does a passenger side fuel cap have to do with England? There are other manufacturers that have the fuel cap on the passenger side, not just Ford. Also, right hand drive cars have nothing to do with Europe. Most of Europe drives on the same side of the road as we do.

Sorry I went off topic, but this was a very ill informed argument against passenger side fuel caps. Maybe try a quick google search so you are more informed on this. For example, most German cars have right side fuel caps, but they drive on the same side of the road as we do.

I have the 2017 1.5L. I've only been seeing 22.6 on the highway when I make 2-3 hour trips going around 75-80mph. I probably shouldnt expect to see much higher since I am a fast driver. I'm not sure how accurate or the reading is on the dash. I havent seen it go below 22.3 in the city.

The dash is not accurate, you have to do real numbers by tank fill.

My wife just purchased her 2017 2.0L Escape. Take delivery tomorrow.

Are most using Premium Gasoline or is Regular doing the job?

TIA

With a 15 gallon gas tank it seems like I'm always at the pumps.
And with that I have to log a complaint with FORD.
Small tank and the filler cap on the ( England ) right hand drive side of the vehicle. Ford looking after Europe not their home land?
Sorry for the rant.
While I agree it is a small tank you should have looked something like that up before purchasing. Looking at ratings and their range could have saved you some headache.

25 mpg combined with AWD and a twin scroll turbo is very, very good. I would not be as happy if it was all highway miles, but I average 25 mpg all stop and go with virtually no highway. Try to find those numbers with a 245 hp turbo, 3000 Ibs tow capacity, and AWD. You won't.

Ram EcoDiesel or Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel. Diesels are always underrated so the combined rating of 24mpg for the JGC would easily be surpassed. Oh, and the Jeep can tow 7200lbs.
