2017 Fuel Tank Volume?

Owner's manual says 16.2gal.
Ford website says 15.7gal.

So which is correct?

I was curious about that myself, the order guide lists the tank increasing from 15.5 to 16.2, and 2013-2016 brochures list it as 15.1 and owners manuals as 15.5.

Just saying that 2013->2016 has the same discrepancy, it isn't new. The order guide, brochure, web specs, owner manual, etc, consistently have same but different numbers. I could look for the receipt from when the FE said it has 10 miles until empty (I don't run it down that far, the other driver of it does).

It is likely maximum possible fuel vs usable fuel. Size of the tank vs how much you can put in a tank run down from where it can't deliver fuel to engine to as much as can then put in before the pump shuts off.

It might also be the difference between the tank with and without the fuel pump installed...

It doesn't really matter... was just curious. I've yet to have a vehicle where I've filled it to what the capacity is supposed to be... I don't pull into the gas station with the engine sputtering on fumes

IMHO, any published volume is theoretical.
