Ford Escape Trims (S vs SE vs SEL vs Titanium)

I am looking to buy a 2013 Ford Escape and I can't find out which trim I want.

The Titanium looks great with the HIDs, Leather Seats, Touchless Trunk..

I am looking for opinions to see if people find the Titanium worth it over the SEL.

Or is the features worth it at all? And I should get the S model. I don't see the value of the SE over the S.

Opinions? What did you buy and why?

Thank you so much

What sold me on the Titanium was the leather seats. Both my wife and I found them to be much more comfortable than the SEL. I saw your other post and to answer that question the Titanium Leather seems firmer to me which is what we both liked.

I say go with the Titanium. It just feels much more luxurious with extra tech and leather. Apparently, there is a $1500 rebate in dealerships right now that you can take advantage of.

I went for the Titanium. I really need the HID's to see well at night.

I bought the SEL, with mainly all the upgrades that you would get in a Titanium cause I wanted the color, and they didn't stock it, so I missed out on the HID's. But the S , has the 2.5 duratec engine, where as the SE, If I am not mistake has the 1.6L Boost, which is a smaller and more capable engine (as long as you had the recall fixed). I would get the SE, purely on the engine.

If you don't care for the premium features on the Titanium or the SEL I would get the SE. The S has the 2.5L which even though is a great motor - not as good as the SE.

The SE and SEL also offer 4WD which might be important to you.

we went with the SE, 1, the price 2, color choice on the interior , 3, 2.0 ecoboost and the wheels, not just the plane steels with plastic cover. although the leather and glass roof was very nice on the SEL

It all comes down to whats in your pocket book. It always costs more $$ for more features. For once in my life I was willing to get it all. My SEL is loaded with everything except the glass roof and Nav. I love every one of the features. From my perspective the entry level comes well equipped at a good price compared to the competition.

I second that one - I would have opted for the Titanium, just couldn't find one in Blue where I am from. But I did get the SEL with all the upgrades. inc. glass top and Nav. I did the glass top for my son, which he loves staring at the clouds and planes.
