Could it be possible to put a manhole access to the storm sewer in the driveway and make it straight? Our storm sewer grate is at the bottom of the (straight) double + driveway and just to the right hand side with storm gutters feeding into it. There has got to be a way to make it straight and backing over a grate at the edge of the roadway should be considered. Just my 2cents. Let us know what you finally decide. Remember if it is not built it is possible to redesign.

Boring but practical!!!

You should see a co-worker of mine backup her Ford Fiesta at work. She would tear my lawn apart if she had to back up from my driveway.

As Henry Ford said (slightly modified).

You can pick any color you want, as long as it's white!

Lol, whatever the outcome please do update ..... you've got us 'hooked' now.

3.7m / 12ft of drive width gives some room for 'meandering' .... maybe add 'edge of shoulder rumble strips' to help your friends? (jk)

Will do.

For now, my dad is thinking of doing it straight on one side and just a small curve at the entrance.

Update on the driveway layout as per centex's request!

This shot was taken from the most left corner of the garage.. not bad I think!

It has to be levelled and stuff, but it gives an idea anyways.

I will be opening up a new thread, I need advice on my flooring... LOL!

Curve? What curve??

Is it 'optics' or does the drive now 'narrow' as it approaches the street ?

Congrats on the progress!

It Narrows rather than a curve, however we do need to widen it at the end. Ill take a final photo when the rocks come in.

I<M pleased with the outcome.

Exactly!!

The engineer that had designed it initially was only thinking of the look, not practicality.
