Thanks for the report pilot, at the end I think that the important point for me is that IF I had the money to upgrade, is the Lincoln worth all that money compared to the titanium or it would be better to buy an Audi BMW, Mercedes or my favorite Porsche Cayenne

Front map / reading lights in the "where you would expect them" location as we have for the last 35+ years ! Trying to reach our Escape front map / reading lamp buttons if you have reduced range of motion or a sore / stiff neck to look back...

I had a loaner Fusion last week and the map / reading lamps are where they should be and have capacitive touch on/off activation! Would be nice if the various car teams "talk to each other" to share their "best practices" and keep a common DNA theme in the various models.

Luckily I can reach that control, but I hear you. In my last Forester, the overhead light switch was so far back I couldn't reach it. My husband barely could at a lanky 5' 9".

I don't want to drive the MKC. As I get older I like more luxury, and the Escape feels so nice now, I don't want the comparison - afraid I'd be hooked.

I believe that the 2015 Escape has the map lights moved to the same location as the sunglass holder. On each side of the sunglass holder.

There are some nice touches, to let you know that your in a luxury brand for sure, I had it on a long trip, it road comfortably, seats were more comfortable than the Escape, however if you looked passed the fascia upgrades your still in an Escape, same goes for if you were in a Lexus ES, its a luxed up Camry. Thing to remember with Audi, BMW, Mercedes & Porsche I think Porsche had the better service record but with all the toys Cayenne can get over 6 figures. lol. With Lincoln, I know an oil change is not going to be $100.00's like a Mercedes would be.

Just tripped on this thread, thanks for all the pics, Pilot.

Must say I do like the looks of the center dash 'waterfall' and the console better than my FE ... very 'clean and simple' .... I s'pose the push-button shift is necessary to make room for that setup.

Certainly a few 'bits' there to check-out for possible retro-fitment to the FE (hydraulic hood strut and what appears to be an underhood light seen in that pic?).

If you don't mind, take a closer look at the hood strut/mounting and offer an opinion as to suitability for fitting that to the FE when you get yours back to scope that area (TIA ;-)

Enjoy your 'visit' with the Lincoln!

'14 Escape SE 2.0 FWD (25 Sep 13 build); 201A SE Convenience Package; Power Liftgate; Leather Comfort Package; Oxford White on Med Light Stone Leather (SYNC 2 w/8" MFT screen)
I love my hard-working '05 F-150 XLT 5.4 V8 trailer-towing truck, too !

Help us help you - what is your year, engine, drivetrain, trim and SYNC version?

They moved the map lights on the '15 Escapes to either side of the sunglass holder
