did you test drive the 2.0 as well? How is the power on that 2.3?
Thanks! I test drove quite a few cars before buying the MKC 2.3AWD. FE titanium 2.0AWD, Infiniti QX50, Lexus NX300h, Buick Encore, Acura RDX, Chevy Impala, Subaru Outback and the Lincoln MKX.
I did drive the MKC 2.0FWD and the 2.3AWD back-to-back. The 2.3 has noticeably more power, but not an overwhelming amount. It uses the same 6 speed tranny as the FE and 2.0 MKC, so they had to dial back the available power compared to the same engine in the Mustang 2.3 (MKC 285 hp, 305lb/ft; Mustang 310hp, 320lb/ft).
I special ordered a 2.0FWD MKC with the CCD suspension (reserve, tech pkg, tow pkg, THX), but had to cancel and take this 2.3AWD off the lot when vehicular circumstances changed suddenly. I am very
happy with the extra hp and torque. However, there is a big
fuel economy hit with the 2.3. If you are looking at a smaller SUV/CUV for fuel economy purposes, the MKC 2.3AWD is not
for you. Here in SoCal, I know they lost sales by not having a hybrid version. The only thing I miss from my special order is THX.
One last unrelated thing, having had some experience with MFT/MLT, Sync3 with Car/Auto play is a huge leap forward. Anyone cross-shopping earlier years of any Ford/Lincoln product would be well advised to get the newer version with Sync3.
Sorry for the long-winded response. I guess it's why I never joined twitter.
