I want to chime in here, I just bought these LEDs from VLEDS. They are a local shop here in Bellingham and they makes these lights. So, they are exclusive through them. They come with a 1 year warranty, and are VERY bright! I easily installed them for my license plates.

They have a shop that you can visit in Bellingham, WA. Though, most of their sales are online. I stopped by and they seem to have a nice shop. I would recommend these guys to anyone.

i have some cheap LEDs in the license plate and they stay on very dim for a few minutes after the car is locked. Do the VLEDs do that also?

Yup... Every LED bulb I've put in the license plate light has stayed on, or gone out prematurely. It's not the bulb, because I took them out and installed them in another car with no problems.

I may just get a set of blue tinted bulbs that look like a whiter light from behind.

I use Sylvania LED bulbs and do not have the dimming problem. I have them for two months they're still working fine.

I used the Sylvanias and they worked good on one light but the contact was too loose on the other side, which kept going out, I tried getting the dealer to do something bout it, they just put the regular bulbs back in. So i went out and bought Sylvania silverstars that has been working great since.

One of the sockets on mine was too loose too. I used a small screwdriver to bend the contacts out a little and they work fine since. Just need to be careful not to short them out while doing that.
