Installed a magnaflow ss catback exhaust

1st. Really love my escape. 1st thing I did after purchase was install a air raid cold air intake and definately noticed a bit of performance increase. Now I dad the magnaflow installed. The 4" outlets look great. The whole exhaust from tip to header is like a mirror but obviously that's not easily seen but impressive. The sound and performance boost with this addition was doubly good and impressive. First Hwy trip I noted a 2-3 km per litre fuel improvement as well. 91 octane gas. I would advise any escape owner that the cold air intake and performance exhaust is worth every penny and you will be amazed.

That sounds good, what year and engine do you have? What fuel consumption L/100km are you now getting?

The Magnaflow cat back for the 1.6L is on Summit Racing at a reduced price of $758 from $811. And there is 8% eBay buck at the moment for these purchases.

Is this a DIY bolt on kit or shop style installation required?

Also post pictures when you have them, thanks!

I installed mine today, 1.6L FWD. I did it myself, you COULD do it in a driveway, but a lift made it super easy. A little penetrant on the two CAT bolts, and I cut the original exhaust in three pieces. The factory system is one piece from the CAT to the tips. I cut it just in front of the rear suspension, and also just after the rear suspension. One tip, leave the middle hanger (above rear suspension) off until you are ready to tighten everything up. The OEM has a resonator, then a small muffler, then the big rear muffler. The Magnaflow has no middle muffler, and the rear muffle is smaller so more ground clearance. Im guessing the new system is 20 plus pounds lighter.

The 4 inch mirror tips look awesome. It has a slight burble at idle. sounds throaty with the windows down but not loud. No drone at highway speeds.

I'll get picture in a week or so when I do the trans fluid change.

I assume since you cut the OEM exhaust out (probably no other choice aside from removing rear suspension/subframe?).

Could it be welded back up and reused? Say for when you sold the car as an example.
