    Upgraded Sync 3 w/o navigation yesterday. Now getting the voice recognition not ready message. I do have an extended warranty. Is this something that I just need to take in to them and to fix? I already need to go in and have them look at my remote start, as it now is shutting off after 30 sec. Any advice on either issue would be greatly appreciated. My car is a 2016 Escape Titanium with on 33,000 miles on it.

    Unfortunately, yes. Most likely this is the problem with an incomplete install where a replacement APIM module will be needed.

    I am Sly from Virginia, have a 2016 Ford F150 lariat 2.7L V6.

    i need help i been trying to update my software on my f150 to version 3.0 v USb. it keep stop and say the follow message.

    invalid or unsiged file, your installation package may have corrupted the package signature may have failed or the signature may have been revoke.

    UofM,

    I did what you specified. Worked like a charm. Took a bit for Sync to show that it was doing anything and then the 'download' stopped and 3-5 minutes later, it reset by itself at I had everything for v3.0. Really wish that there was some better visibility into the processing of these uploads, but I've finally got everything working. Thanks again for all of the help with this!

    my apologies, but i have searched through the first 5-6 pages of the Sync 3.0 thread that we have been corresponding on and cannot find the IVSU info. I even tried to search the thread and kept getting an error. I am quite familiar with this type of message board and its tools and cannot seem to find this. thanks!

    I joined the FordEscape forum so that I could IM you. You're basically a legend when it comes to this entire Sync 3 v3.0 debacle that Ford has created. I have a 2016 F150. Wondering if you can help me out.

    1) What error do you see? - MEM_ERR03
    2) When? - Trying to upgrade from v2.2 to v3.0.
    3) Have you tried anything on your own to fix it, e.g. install a different package?
    Started with 2016 Non-Nav (May build with v1.0) Upgraded to v2.2 via ford.com and installed new USB module for CarPlay usability. Vehicle has refused to update over WiFi ever since, stalls out every time. Downloaded official v3.0 version from Ford.com. Got MEM_ERR03. Broke down autoinstall.lst script to 2 usb sticks...I have the script if you need to see it. Uploaded to v3.0 but now have no Gracenote and seem to keep getting WiFi update popup.
    4) Vehicle model year - 2016 F150 XLT, usb module upgraded, Non-Nav
    5) Region, in case your from across the pond/s. - US

    I tried again and this time it worked... Really not sure what I did differently than the last time (3-4mo ago)

    I work at Ford in PCCN. Bought a 2018 F-150 in Jan. Looking to update to V3.0 sync. I am getting the same MEM_ERR03 error as everybody else but have not been able to decipher which fix to implement. I can give you the autoinstall file or anything else you need. Please let me know if you can help!

    2. Approx 3 min after I see Updating Software in the header
    3. Reformatted USB drive - exFAT/FAT32
    4. 2018 F-150

    I forgot to mention the 16 escape is using the old sync with v5.8

    That's the small screen using the old MS sync I think.

    I just purchased this used from Carmax. My 2nd Taurus. Vers. 2.2 seems to be okay but would really like the update.

    Hi, I have a 2016 Escape that is running an older version of SYNC, is that something you also know how to update?

    My (my wife's) 2016 Escape Titanium with Navigation has Sync 3.0 Build 18025 installed. The My Owner website says Sync 3.0 update is available. Would this be the same Build 18093 that is in my 2018 Escape? Should I download it? After a year of bringing the update process notification problems to the attention of Ford, I have lost confidence in what the My Owner site is telling me.

    I have a 2016 F150 sync 3 that I am trying to update 3.0 from 2.0. I keep getting the memory error three number. Can you help? Thanks, Matt

    Would you be able to send me the file to get my non-nav F150 updated to Sync 3.0. I keep getting the mem err03 error. Thank you! Matt

    Do you see any problems in having my trickle charge during the whole process and not ever starting the car? BTW, my USB update went fairly smoothly. Only thing of concern was that I did not get a message from Sync "system updating" for a while. It was long enough that I pulled the USB and got a message that it did not update. I ignored the warning to re-download and reinserted the USB and things went normally after that.

    Quick question on updating Sync 3 software via USB. Did I correctly understand you to say that this could be done without the engine running? If you note my signature line, we just traded in our 2013 Escape for a 2018 Escape Titanium (the 1.6 engine cooling issue made me too nervous for my age). I successfully updated the Sync software from 2.3 to 3.0. However it irks me that the canned instructions say the engine needs to be running. Can I, in the future, put the vehicle into non start accessory mode and connect a trickle charger? I did a 72 hour subscription to the Ford manuals on line and 415-00C seems to suggest that the vehicle does not need to be running. I do have a trickle charger. Also, when I did the update this morning, I disabled the auto start/stop.

    I have an 2016-Edge SEL instead of an Escape, but this seems to be the only place I can find where people can get around the MEM_ERR03 problem.

    Here are the answers to your questions. Any help you could give would extremely helpful. Thanks

    3) Have you tried anything on your own to fix it, e.g. install a different package? Yes still running 2.0 tried to install 2.3 tried with no luck, tried multiple new drives.
    I have tried a Master Reset, made sure I have exFat USB drive (quick format and regular format)
    4) Vehicle model year (2016, Edge SEL)
    5) Region, in case your from across the pond/s. Detroit
