I have 2013 Escape SE 1.6L turbo. A few months ago, I had a coolant leak. The “High Engine Temperature. Stop Safely.” warning would flash and slow the vehicle way down whenever the coolant got too low (temperature gauge would rise too). I got it fixed and it’s been fine for a few months.

This morning it started flashing that warning again, accompanied by the slowdown. There was and is enough coolant, but it keeps doing it and I can’t drive. The temperature gauge does not indicate an overheat, it stays low.

Anyone have an idea what could be causing this? Thank you.
