Update on this, the service person at the Ford dealership said that they do need to change the battery charging mode for an AGM battery. They are taking care of it while they also make some warranty repairs for me.
Did this solve your problem long term? I am on my 3rd battery the last one lasted 7 months. Or did you eventually get a bigger battery?

A few days ago I installed a bigger 70AH 12v AGM battery in my 2020 Escape Hybrid. Here's a link to my write-up.

Hello, the dealer just resets/ updates the communication module. I had the car in the shop last Monday and picked it up Wednesday and it went into deep sleep mode Wednesday morning. I had driving my car over 100 miles on Sunday. The reset the communication module on 7/25 when I had it in the shop. There is TSB regarding this but the resolution on it is resetting/updating the communications module. I am frustrated with this. They need a bigger battery and once I can $$ it , since the dealer will not replace it, I will end up buying the one I have seen on this forum to replace it.
I was last at the dealer in January. Same story as always….they don’t have any guidance from Ford. No effort made to do anything. I’ve never had a dead battery….just the message. The last time was within the last week (yes in the warm summertime weather). I’ll probably have the battery replaced before winter with the larger battery.

Mine does the same thing all the time. I've had it at the dealership more than once. The last time, they reflashed the communication module, and it worked fine for a few days. But now it is back to doing it regularly. BUT, my car has never not manually started by me getting in and pressing the start button. It's only been in "deep sleep mode" as far as the app was concerned. But never actually dead dead. I expect you'll get the under-the-hood rattling noise soon...if you haven't already...
Mine does the SAME THING! I’m going on the third battery. Did they resolve your issue?

Refer all previous posts here regarding replacing the battery with the larger AGM unit.
I got tired of hearing from service that "the battery tests fine" and then nothing else is done. I went and bought an AGM battery and guess what....the other day...I got the deep sleep message from the app when trying to start the car. I am tired of this car and the issues. I only have 4900 miles over the two years I've owned it and besides the "marbles in the motor" issue still existing, and the rough idle, and now this deep sleep bs still, I am probably done with Ford. Warranty runs out in a year and I am afraid that all of these things will get way worse and they'll be say oh well it's out of warranty...again...by next year I will likely only have 7000 miles or less on it. Sigh....

... "marbles in the motor" issue still existing...
I've noticed my PHEV sounds a louder than I recall the 2021 SEL Hybrid I demo'd. My description of it is it sounds gravely. Wondering if it's similar.

Edit: Listened to your video, doesn't really sound the same. But I'll try listening to it while it's above idle from outside.

I replaced my OEM battery with the larger AGM battery...and no problems...no deep sleep message on the app....remote start works fine. Just prior to the replacement of the battery the deep sleep message was an everyday occurrence. For comparison I've owned by FE 2.5 years and have 30,000 miles. Maybe in your case you really don't drive your FE enough. You might try taking a drive for an hour or so and checking the next few days for the message or use a battery charger when the vehicle is sitting idle. Or there could be two issues battery size and there's something else wrong. Did the dealer ever do a parasitic draw test?

i brought it in for service and they claimed there was a bulletin for something, and they took care of it...i went to leave and none of the windows would roll up nor would the back gate button work so I went back inside and dropped the keys.

Went around the other side and bought a bronco sport, so the escape is no more. On the plus side, I got more for my trade than the sticker price of the bronco.

I have a 2020 escape Titanium Hybrid. I now have 40,000 miles
I have had the 12 volt battery replaced 2 times now. The car will be 3 years old in January.
I always run in Eco mode, and i can average about 42 - 43MPG (Real) Dash says 45 which is overstated.
This 3rd battery is now having problems. Car goes into deep sleep, and voltage stays around 11 volts.
They told me it was a bad cell on both batteries.
They keep giving me a new battery for free. The dealer says batteries don't last as long as they used but 10 months is crazy.

Has anyone else had issues with the 12 volt battery on their hybrid?

There are many posts on forums here about replacing the original 12V battery with the larger AGM type to solve this problem for your vehicle.
Ford will just keep replacing them until the warranty runs out but that will not solve the issue and they will not fit the larger AGM battery so you will probably end up buying one yourself.
Suggest you do a search here for more details.

I merged your thread with the existing thread on this issue. Have a look at the other posts for a solution.

There have been so many complaints about the battery and related deep sleep mode issues on this forum, that I recommend registering your complaints on the NHTSA website: Report a Safety Problem | NHTSA
There are already some similar complaints on the website for the 2020 Escape HEV. Maybe Ford will issue a TSB to resolve the issue if many more people take the time to register their complaints. If the problems led to potential safety issues, that information could lead to a NHTSA investigation and possible recall.

I just had my battery replaced two weeks no issues and it did it the other day when I drove it over 50 miles the day before . I am going to have to bite the bullet and do the battery upgrade out of my own pocket
UPDATE: Vehicle has gone into deep sleep mode about 2 weeks after battery replaced. They are replacing the BCM mid February to see if that resolves the issue. ...Not sure why but I will do more research before my appt

I have a 2021 Ford Escape Titanium hybrid that was constantly going into deep-sleep mode within hours of turning off the car.
The 2nd Ford Service center I took it to installed a software update, 22-2078 Ford Technical Service Bulletin , for the Plug-in Hybrid(PHEV) that they said also applies to the Hybrid(HEV) even though the TSB doesn't say it.
So far, it's been a month and it hasn't gone into deep-sleep mode as of yet, and I still have the original smaller 45AH battery.

So, if you are having this problem, talk to your Ford service center about this update.

I had the BMS (BSM) replaced and it still goes into battery save mode.
Obviously not a BMS issue and the dealer should know that by now as they have probably replaced many of these 12v batteries under warranty.
As you said earlier you will probably have to bite the bullet like many others here and instal the larger AGM battery.
