2020 Ford Escape Hybrid - replace 12 volt battery with larger Group 48 AGM

Here's a quick how to video that I made showing replacing the stock 12v 45AH lead acid battery with a 12v 70AH AGM battery.
Some folks have had issues with the stock 12v battery running down and not being able to unlock the vehicle, or start it by remote, or some to even start it at all, as it is needed to engage the relays for the high voltage battery. Some also get the "Deep Sleep" message in the FordPass app that indicates a low battery voltage for the 12v battery.
Adding a larger AGM battery helps to prevent these issues.
Besides topping up the AGM battery prior to install, it took about 20 minutes.

Edit - The 12 volt battery is under the floor in the rear cargo area. In the Titanium hybrid, the spare tire covers it, so remove the spare tire to see it. In the SE hybrid, there is no spare tire, so you'll see it once you lift up the floor of the rear cargo area. - Edit

Here is the battery that I used because I found one for $125! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008FWCLHU
But any Group 48 AGM 12 volt battery will work. (Also called size H6)

Edit 2 - Thanks to a tip, I checked with the Ford service department and they said they do need to reset the BMS for an AGM battery. - Edit 2

Edit 3 - If you want to keep it all Ford, or have the dealer do it, here is the Ford battery:
Part #: BAGM48H6760 (48H6)
https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/electrical/battery-and-related-components/battery-7862483-1 - Edit 3

For everyone asking, here is the BMS reset procedure

For your edit 2, are you saying you do NOT need to do the BMS reset?

Edit to my question. Did you do the manual BMS reset for this ? ie, car in accessory mode, high beam stalk x5, then press brake pedal 3x, then wait for the battery light on dash to flash? I watched them do this when they FINALLY replaced my stock 12 volt battery at the dealer. (yeah I am one of those who has their nose all up in the techs doings, it also helps I know all the techs from my son working at that dealer previously), they attempted to do it with their fancy computer and it wouldn't work so they did it manually after trying for 30 mins with the computer. Thanks! Your video is very helpful and once in budget I will replace with the AGM battery.
The dealer replaced my battery with stock battery after many complaints with the issue. I have since had battery sleep mode 2x with new battery(it has never gone completely dead), They manually reset the BSM , simple...car in accessory mode, high beams flashed 5x, then break pedal tapped 3x. I watched them do it. They had it hooked up to their computer but the computer was giving them issues. So after 45 mins of they trying the computer they did it manually. Could have been out of the dealer an hour earlier ...I just got a call saying the ordered a BCM for it to replace the one in there already. I know it's not the main computer, but hopefully it doesn't screw up any of the changes that have been with the Forscan that I did on the car. I have a 2020 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid and I have been having this issue since I purchased it 4/2020. I know have my own battery tester and a charger/tender that I use to keep things in check. The frustration is CRAZY. I will eventually replace with the AGM battery but that probably won't be til Spring or late spring.

That is exactly how the service tech did mine as he couldn't get the shop laptop to work correctly..He could have saved me 45 mins of wait time....LOL it works I have done it on a 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid and my 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. I watched him do it

This method works for some Escapes with BMS but certainly does not work for all models as this guy in the video suggests.....he is misleading viewers, probably unintentionally. There is also another method involving pushing the rear foglight switch 5 times and hazard lights 3 times that only works for certain models.
This has been dscussed many times on these forums with members trying both methods and saying that in the end they have had to do it with Forscan or get a dealer with a scan tool to reset it as I did last year after replacing my battery.
Perhaps it works on Hybrids but I don't know why if the BMS operates in the same way🤔
It worked on my 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid and I watched the tech do it on my car. No Forscan needed on my car , 2017 fusion hybrid and my sons 2020 F350 diesel

The discussion should be limited to 2020 and newer Escapes only.
I was speaking of my 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid

I was referring to my 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid(which worked as I saw the tech at the dealer to it with me watching ) I was mentioning the other two vehicles as that reset process worked on all THREE vehicles stating the years of the vehicles for a reference as to the process of the manual reset
