I placed an order today for a 2023 Platinum AWD, 2.0L Ecoboost, Premium Tech Pkg, Tow Pkg, Cargo liner and floor liners (no carpet) Vapor Blue, Space Gray Interior. MSRP w/ destination charge was $41,680. I received an order confirmation from Ford. The salesperson mentioned the dealership can't place any orders for the lot, only individuals through the dealership. Not all dealers can place custom orders at this time. I was also told that since they have no vehicles on the lot, I could quickly get my deposit back if I change my mind and they will be happy to sell it to someone else.

It's a little weird placing an order for a vehicle that has no official interior photos but it seems like it will be close to the 22 Focus. I love the turbo engine, the HUD, and the gas mileage of my 20 Titanium. I'm looking forward to Sync 4, the bigger screen, and the 360 camera.

Interesting - I got our dealer to price out a 2023 Titanium Hybrid with the Technology Package (and no other add ons) and it comes to $40,925 including the destination/delivery charge of $1495. It suggests there's almost no (or no) upcharge for the 2.0L

I believe that's correct (that there is little difference in price). My order is also AWD.

That is interesting though because the pricing I've seen would put that configuration at $39,425 incl. DC. Are you sure no other options were added?

The base MSRP for Platinum FWD Hybrid is $36,020.

The base MSRP for Platinum AWD 2.0 Ecoboost is $37,520.

Thought about placing order on 2023 too but it's 10k more then what I paid for 2020, instead decided on 2023 VW id4. If I can get it by end of the year the price with credits will be the same as loaded Escape. Aside from that no other options worth considering with around 40k price tag

Good luck getting it with the right battery that qualifies for the tax credit.

As was described in the 2023 PHEV thread, I got the dreaded "supply chain issues, we'll update you in 45 days, thanks for playing," email. Bummer. I thought the gas-powered Platinum was going to be a quicker path.

So now it has been 54 days and still no word from Ford or the dealer!!
Was your email address added to your order? I ordered on 9/19 but didn't get the confirmation email until 9/26 when I asked the dealer and he added it. I got the confirmation email within an hour of that and got the 45 day delay email exactly 45 days after 9/26.

Agreed - It seems consistent that those of us posting here got the email 45 days after getting the initial order email (or after an email address was added to the order).

Did you get an initial order confirmation email from Ford when the order was placed?

Thanks for your thoughts. Ford has my email on file. They used it to confirm my order so I guess I am just being ignored.

My planned build was just bumped out a week to the week of Jan 16.

Whatever you do, show up expecting to NOT accept delivery. Inspect EVERYTHING! Paint chips included. Make them fix ANY scratch, dent, ding etc etc BEFORE you sign or do anything.

Test drive! Test drive! Test drive. And I don't mean with some jackal looking for a sale in the passenger seat. If they won't let you drive it on your own terms for a while, walk.

This is just how things are now days. Even if you test drove one they had on the lot - it's not the one you ordered or are going to be paying for.

Lastly, I was inquiring about a Maverick and they simply just don't have them. I expect the same for pretty much every vehicle, especially the "higher end" models - like the Titanium Escapes. The best they could do was place an order for a '24 lol. No thanks.

Best thing you can do is make sure whatever convinced them to place the order, usually a deposit, is full refundable at any time you want, and simply be patient or find somewhere that actually has a new vehicle on the lot. I've personally given up entirely after the Tacoma and Escape I bought were both ordered and that's how I learned these lessons - the hard way. So unless it's on the lot, I'm not buying it. Seriously made me reconsider a lot of my personal preferences and needs, especially for the prices they are asking now days. It's getting way out of hand. Our escapes are not $30+k vehicles even in their best form. /rant.

No idea why you chose to drop that rant in this thread, but I've not had that experience with my last two Escapes. And, I think my current Escape and the one I ordered are both excellent in value as a function of price. If I thought there was a better option, I'd buy it. I don't think there is.
