I guess we’ll be the first to post a 2023 PHEV order. Standard PHEV, Vapor blue, space gray interior and panoramic vista roof. Let the fun begin 😎. Ordered at dealership at 11:30am this morning.

After almost 15 months, I finally got my 23 PHEV. Addons were trailer hitch and rear cargo mat (out of stock but did not hold build).

Ordered 02/02/2022 : $39010 MSRP
Reordered Nov 4 2022 : $40490 MSRP. $2000 transition private offer to comp
Scheduled in Jan 2023 for week of 3/16.
Unscheduled 2/15 (plant shutdown).
Rescheduled 3/9 for week of 4/14.
Built 4/11.
Delivered 4/25 : $42490 MSRP. (should have $2000 price protection)
(Dealer Website auto-listed it at $46225 with addons like pinstripe, digishield, market value adjustment...)

I paid current MSRP minus the transition private offer. Dealer was confused about the same year MSRP price protection. I got a signed form saying if they get the comp after 60 days, they will refund me. (Ford reimburses the dealer 45-60 days, they just did not apply at time of sale.)

I told them no dealer addons. They said they had to apply some protection package, but no charge to me. I agreed. (Another dealer said they had a contract to apply similar to all vehicles.)

Car had 0% battery when I arrived. They made some excuse about their charger not working. Car comes with 120v charger. That worked fine at my home.

Financed with Ford at 0% for 36 months. Dealer had trouble finding that offer. Started with 4% and claimed website was wrong for PHEV. I asked to double check and they "found" the 0%.

I did not get any battery/material sourcing paperwork. Will be contacting the dealer about what is needed. Odd that it looks digital, yet still visible when the car is off.

Are those the stock cloth and vinyl seats without the premium package? It looks really good! How do they feel? Does the driver's side have lumbar adjustment? Is adjusting climate control through the touchscreen instead of hard buttons an annoyance?

I have a 2023 PHEV non-premium on order, but ended up getting a 2022 PHEV instead since I was worried about the 2023 PHEV losing eligibility on tax rebate.

The 2022 technically has better features than the 2023 we ordered with features like pano roof, memory seats, B&O sound system, and full faux leather seats, but my wife and I don't use the memory seats or pano roof. The leather seat also gets extremely hot in the summer here in Texas. So the cloth seats might actually be preferable. I like 2023's infotainment and exterior styling.

If we can trade in the 2022 ($44k+TTL msrp, $41.5k+TTL) after discounts for $37k to the dealer then it would be an even swap. I highly doubt we can get $37k in trade-in though.

What's the gauge on the right side of the driver's display?

Dealer should have filed out this form with all info filled in/signed and dated when you took delivery. They then have to report all the same information to the IRS when there is a way for the dealer to input that info to the IRS. Good luck to us all relying on our dealer to follow through 🤦‍♂️. Especially the ones who are clueless and don’t even know their responsibilities to the IRS and their customers. Our dealership was on top of it a gave us the form at time of delivery with all our other paperwork. Hopefully they’re just as diligent when it comes time for the info to be reported to the IRS. I see this becoming a sh**storm later this year.

PS. I’m sure Ford has updated this form for post 04/18/23 deliveries.

Thank you for that. My dealer did not give me anything like that when I bought a 2022 PHEV in January. I've just reached out to them. Hopefully they won't be negligent in submitting report to the IRS in the future.
I do not have the premium package, so all base PHEV. The seats are a little on the stiff side, but not uncomfortably hard. The cloth centers are a nice, tight weave. Drivers side has power lower lumbar adjust + forward/back and tilt. Passenger has manual adjust and no lumbar.

One complaint is the track for the seat. If you have the seat very far back, you will hit your leg getting out. I am 6' and after adjusting to a comfortable distance, it was no longer a problem.

I set the temp, set auto and it was not a problem. Auto has 3 blower speeds, and each grill can be closed off gradually with knobs. The screen is fairly responsive. Sometimes it feels more like animated transitions than lag. That does not affect the climate since they are always there.

The right side of the center is fuel. Left side is engine temp. It is a new experience going 50mph with no engine temp.

I do not have a photo, but the speedometer is only a number, no dial version that I have found. The cruise displays the mph# it is set to max at with the last speed sign seen beside it. I say max because it will auto adjust down to match traffic. You can set how far over the speed limit to go. Each new speed sign will set the cruise to that + your setting. This can be a bit aggressive braking down from 60 to 45. It seems to change it's setting when the speed sign is beside you instead of say 100ft out.

There is an "EV Coach" sub-screen you can swap to beside the speedo. A bar fills up towards a line to show when the gas engine or disk brakes will be needed. Very video game feeling, A+.

Charging on the 120v provided cable says it will take 11hr 30min from 0 to 100.

Wireless Android Auto worked, but really ate through my older phone's battery. The normal bluetooth audio + built in navigation and "OK Ford" voice commands worked fine for navigation. Made a few calls and did not have a complaint.

Has anyone received their escape in Vapor Blue? im waiting to see a picture of one.
I saw the one at the NY car show yesterday and it looks nothing like the color online on the ford site, or the paint sample the dealer had.
Here is a YT video of a 2023 Escape with the active trim in Vapor Blue.
. We ordered a PHEV with this color in Dec 2022 but still waiting for it to be scheduled.

I was so looking forward to posting here with actual questions about my actual car, alas I still dont have one. Based on reading through this thread I did just call customer service and have them look up the order in case there was something holding it up. When purchasing I added the premium package and roof bars but nothing else separate from those.

Order was placed in September of 2022 so I’m frustrated to still be “unscheduled” but she did say that it was “unscheduled clean” which means that nothing in my order is being held up due to the supply shortage. She also said if I wanted more info I should get in touch with my dealer as they have more access to the information of the order. I guess I’ll stop in there to say hello later on this week as they are not completely reliable in returning phone calls.

If I don’t have it by August my son will be taking my current car off to college and I’ll have to buy the cheapest used something or other so I can still get groceries. I really dont want to have to do that. She assured me that she did not find any info in the order that it would be moved up the queue if I agreed to let them delete the satellite radio, which I would never use so I haven’t tried to change anything yet.

Has anyone else had them say that they would be able to move them up the queue if they changed their order? I’d be happy to remove the sat radio and 4G hotspot.

(Edit:) This is for the Plugin Hybrid version, in case that matters, it probably does...

Same situation for my Sept order but my dealer is clueless. First and last Ford I will ever buy.
Finally took delivery. 6 months to the day that I ordered. Platinum hybrid, nothing got deleted but also no extras. Really liking it so far just wish it hadn't taken so long.

I also ordered in September, finally had enough of the delay, and ordered a Subaru Forester Touring that will be in next month.
Our current car is a Subaru Impreza. We love it. We were going to sell our Subaru but now we are very skeptical that Ford can deliver a vehicle without significant problems down the road so we will keep two (assuming we ever get the Escape delivered) cars for awhile. You will enjoy the Forester. Good luck and have fun.

Mine also was ordered September 21. I have update that it will be built May 30 just check your Vin and order number and don’t bug your dealer. You’ll get an answer by checking Vin and order number on the status of your order. Mine is a platinum with all available options so I am not deleting anything and it’ll be built the week of May 30.

Yes, but you don’t get a VIN until it is scheduled, so I can’t check on it through the regular channels for tracking the order as I’m still unscheduled. If it weren’t for that then yes, I would just look it up on the order status page. I look forward to getting my update that it has been scheduled for being built!
You get a Vin right away not when it’s scheduled double check use your Vin call your dealer for the order number and you will get updates your Vin is issued right after ordering you do have a Vin so please check and you will get updates

It’s definitely not on any of the paperwork I’ve got nor any of the communications from Ford or the Dealership. I have an Order Code and a Sales Code. I’ve dropped another email to my dealership to ask for the VIN number so I can track it with the online tools and wont have to bother them so much ;) Thank you! If there is one I’ll track it down!

Hmmm. This is the first anyone has said that you get a VIN at time of ordering. Curious if you find out you have one PlanetaryGear.

You do not get a VIN when you order the vehicle. The VIN is assigned when the order is scheduled, about 2 months before it is built. I originally ordered my PHEV in January, but the dealer messed up and the order was cancelled, so I was switched to another order that was placed in late September. It still hasn't been scheduled. And yes, I bother my salesman every week asking about it.
My "adopted" order was originally placed on September 30 and it hasn't been scheduled yet, as of last Thursday. I'll be checking again tomorrow. The good thing is that I don't actually need a second car right now, so I can wait, but who likes waiting? I'm seriously wondering if I'm going to end up having my order pushed to a 2024 vehicle...
I did not say you get Vin as soon as you order. But it is soon after. I will check my records to see when. If you ordered in Sept. you should have a Vin. Just call your dealer and get Vin and order number to track your Escape.
