Canadian PHEV orders

Hi everyone,

I recently (last week) put my non-refundable deposit in with a local Ford dealership (Canada) for the 2023 Escape PHEV.

I haven't received any emails from Ford and my dealer is implying that all notifications will come through them. Is this normal practice?

I seen people mention that they are getting emails directly from Ford but I'm not sure if that also applies to Canadian orders.

Also curious on what you have been told for an expected shipping date. I was told April 2023

I still haven't gotten my VIN from the dealership, apparently Ford hasn't provided it to them yet, hopefully that's not a bad sign lol they said they should have the VIN by next week. I can't wait to be able to track updates by myself

I ordered end of December 22, so I expect I have at least a couple months left to wait

Finally got a window sticker, production date is now May 9th

Just to close the loop, we took delivery of our Escape PHEV this week (arrived at the dealer last week) and it's been working great in our limited usage so far. I’ve decided against posting photos at this point but we are very happy with the Atlas Blue colour.

Congrats! I finally got a build date (in July) for mine. Glad to hear that you like the Atlas blue and the vehicle.

Can I ask why you're opposed to posting pictures? I haven't been looking as much recently but it would be cool to see the Atlas Blue in a real life picture

Any issues with price protection for you? Mine arrived last week, and they took a few days to (supposedly) sort out price protection with Ford... and ended up coming in with a discount that still left it a few thousand higher than the price we agreed to for the 2022 13 months ago now (hard to believe how much MSRP increased in just over a year!). I told them I didn't mind waiting, but waiting so long for Ford to build it just to see the price get increased is something else. So supposedly the dealership manger will talk to a Ford rep tomorrow and I'll hopefully have good news then, but not sure if there's some magic incantation I need to utter to get the price we agreed to originally.

There are some photos of the Platinum trim in Atlas Blue in another thread here, the only real differences are the PHEV-specific hubcaps and the "Plug-in Hybrid" badge on the back. Mostly it is just not convenient right now for me to take photos that wouldn't show my home street.

Ugh, sorry to hear about that. We never tried ordering a 2022, just a 2023 which we ordered in October. The sticker showed the $45,499 base MSRP in effect when we ordered and the dealer honoured that, even though the base price on later orders went up to $47,499. There was no compensation for the removal of the hands-free lift gate from the premium package but it might have already been cut by the time we ordered.
