I just called a dealer for a 2023 Ford Escape ST line Elite. The salesperson told me the price would be $1,500. above MSRP of $44,485. I did not expect that. I thought it would be a bit below MSRP. What would you guy's do? Here is a link to the vehicle. New 2023 Ford Escape For Sale at Lucas Ford | VIN: 1FMCU9PAXPUA04821

Other dealers in your area if you search at ford.com?

My closest dealer wanted several thousand above MSRP to place orders. They lose two sales. An Escape Ti last year and a Bronco Sport Badlands this year. Also lost extended warranty sales.
Yes, I checked all other dealers in my area. Only 2 dealers have the St Line Elite in White with black rims. One dealer has it in stock, the other it's in transit. The salesperson from the dealer I posted about, the one who has it in stock, just called me back and said he would lower the price from $1500.00 above MSRP to $750.00 above MSRP. I'm still not satisfied that I would have to pay over MSRP. When I bought my 2020 Ford Escape Titanium on 02/20/2020, I got $4,000.00 off MSRP.
Folks on here can give you current delivery times for orders if you can go that route. I ordered March 19, 2022. Delivered May 24, 2022. Purchased what I wanted. Paid $2,250 below MSRP. My wife's Bronco Sport was $1,750 below MSRP.

My closest dealer wanted several thousand above MSRP on each.

Okay, that's what I wanted to know. I never heard of dealers charging above MSRP. Thanks for that info.
Market adjustment aka "mark up". A dealer can put whatever the price they want in current seller's market. It is an only "suggested" retail price after all. I have seen RAV4 priced $10k above MSRP.

I e-mailed the following to the salesman at my dealership at the end of last year. He does MSRP, and I was telling him about other dealers in the region. This one is even worse tham my closest dealership.

Was at Herb Chambers Ford, Westborough for caliper bracket mounting bolts. Doing the rear brakes on the ’14 Escape and an old bolt head is rusty and stripped. Colonial and you didn’t have any in stock.

Checked out the showroom while I was there. Dealer market adjustment on a Bronco Sport Badlands: $7,500. Mark-up on a Ranger with a $29,000 MSRP: $10,000. Mark-up on a Shelby GT500: $50,000!

Happy New Year!
I even mentioned to my ADM dealer that I hope their business plan works for them. It was always empty whenever I stopped in.

The MSRP dealership I bought two cars from within a year recently had a truck there unloading orders or newly delivered cars on the lot with "SOLD" signs hanging from the rearview mirror whenever I was there.

No reason to pay ADM here. Lots of dealerships in the area if I enter my zip code in the dealer locator at ford.com. 23 within 30 miles!
