If I had to guess, it is normal and tied to how long the electronics stay on after the ignition is shut off. I would bet that if you did a test of the USB port, you would find that it goes off at the same time.
Yes, the little orange door light stays on for 5 minutes or so but I wasn't sure about the USB ports.
So I got in the car and locked it with the fob and after around 5 minutes the orange lights went out. So I then turned on sync with my USB plugged music which worked so apparently the USB ports are still live along with the 12V cig. lighter port, at least in my car.
Not sure that is definate proof of the USB ports always being live or whether human intervention alters the situation under my test circumstances?
These same orange door lights also come on when you lock yourself in the car with the button next to them on the door for safety whilst driving so it's no different I suppose except in that case they probably stay on til you unlock or get out of the car.

During a car wash, I'm getting a fair amount of water inside of the left tail light assembly that is mounted on the liftgate (not the tail light on the quarter panel). It actually puddles in the bottom of the light assembly. It eventually does evaporate, but takes quite some...
This is my first time posting on the forums, but I've been looking for advice here for a while. I was wondering if someone could help me with an issue I'm experiencing.
I have a 2017 Titanium without the factory tow package. I decided to go ahead and order the class I hitch...
I noticed this on my brand new 2018 Ford Escape... rust on the column above the brake pedal, and no carpet behind the pedal...see photo. Over the last two years, I have asked several dealerships about it and they say this is normal. Anyone else have this on their brand new car?
This issue has been going on since I got the car I believe it just wasnt as bad. Now whenever I turn the car on the air blows from the feet area instead of on the face. It can be blowing on the face and il stop for gas and turn the car off and when I turn it back on it clicks to the feet.
