I have 2019 Ford Escape 1.5L Ecoboost with an engine light on for faulty heat sensor 1 bank 2 which is the downstream sensor. I am looking to see if anyone has any guidance or diy steps to replace it. I crawled under and that sensor is very hard to get to and I am not sure where to start. I've seen several youtube videos and they made it look easy but none shows what they removed in the beginning to get to the sensor. Any help is appreciated!

Would that be covered under warranty given it's emissions related?

I bought this vehicle with minor hail damage. When I called the dealer they said my car has all but emission warranty cancelled and suggested I call Ford customer care to find out why. The guy I talked to said that it's not covered under the powertrain. I am waiting for customer care to call me back.

The O2 sensors on the Escape are no joke.
Here's what went down with my 2018 SEL.
Remove air filter and intake box.
remove battery and battery box.
Maybe reach the O2 sensor plugs.
on the underside...
remove skid plate/guard.
train your arm in a contortionist puzzle for a month, then maybe you can reach the sensor.

I should have paid for that to be someone elses headache.
