First, let me say thank you for letting me join.

I have a ford Escape 2013 that I truely emjoy.
So far no issues been very happy.

It currently has 40,000 miles on it.

I hope someone on this groupe can help me.

My driver side door will not stay closed. It seems the ketch always stays open.

I tried putting some WD40 in case there was some dirt and grime preventing the ketch from going into the lock position
however, that didn't work either.

Any suggestions how I can fix this issue right quick?

Thanks

For US models, this was an issue and there were at least two recalls done where the latch was replaced.

That's exactly what happens when the latch gets stuck.
The last time I had this on our 2014 Escape I had to cycle lock/unlock with the lock button a couple of times and pull the handle a couple of times before I could get the "claw" to flip around with a large flat blade screw driver.

This isn't Ford or Escape specific, I've had to do it with Taurus, Alero, Malibu etc going all the way back to my '69 AMC Rebel.
