Hi all.

I’ve done a lot of work to my ‘17 F250 with Forscan. Bambi, global window up (global down is standard), seat icons on sync, mirror fold when locking, added ambient lighting to interior/doors and sync, NAV screen plus a few others.

So I know how Forscan works. But before I go mucking around in this new 2020 SEL, I wondering if anyone else has given it a look.

Thanks

Maybe take a look at the official Forscan forums...
Or even ask the Devs if they have a beta version for the 2020

Been there done that. Not much posted there. Thanks for the suggestion.

looks like I’ll just dive in and see what shows up in plan English and do a cross reference spreadsheet.

I have downloaded my as built configurations from Ford so I can go back to stock if needed.

I plan on doing my normal backup of as builts, plus my changes for each module

Ok... Here we go... I had a chance to connect to my 2020. The software connected and listed the modules. But at this point I'm not sure if it listed all of them. It did have an issue reading the DTCs, if any in the ACM module. It did see the ACM.

I updated my Forscan Software to version 2.3.32

I looked thru the BdyCM. There is a long list of items. The only other one I looked at was IPC. I have included some screen shots of the module list and the IPC parameters. That's all I managed to get to at this point.

The connector is at the very left of the console. It set at an angle that allows my ELM to connect, but its a tight fit.

Standby for additional info. I may have a chance to do some more mucking around this weekend. I'll probably start with global window open and close to see if I'm able to change items around. But first, I need to backup my original configurations.

I did a little experimenting over the weekend with the plain text final window up/down. I enabled both and they worked. I now have the cross reference to the as-built code for those command.

I did the backups also. I will be looking deeper in to some of the other IPC changes later this week. Once I have them mapped out, I’m going to move on to the body control module. The first mod there will be LED bulbs and the associated commands for the DTCs

This applies to using the remote to open/close the windows. Not the switches in the interior.

Double press and hold of unlock button to open all windows. Double press and hold of the lock button to close all windows.

Not sure about 2016s but the 2020 has the option of global windows open and close. It was not enabled from the factory. I enabled it with Forscan.

Same for my 2017 F250. It came with global open enabled. I enabled global close with forscan. My 2013 Fusion came from the factory with global open/close enabled

Have you used Forscan to look at the plain text option for your Escape?

Been slaking a bit and been doing other stuff on my other interests. So Forscan on the Escape wasn’t high in my list of stuff to do.

Mine works both open/close with the remote. You have to enable both. As for the sunroof, don’t know. I don’t have a sunroof!

I made the following forscan modifications to my 2020 Ford Escape SE Sport Hybrid. Remote windows close/open can be added to Sync settings and the description says the moonroof is included but I haven't tested it yet because my windows/car are VERY dirty at the moment.
  • Enabled Global remote windows close/open
    • Enabled “Global Window Close/Open with Remote” in BdyCM module configuration
    • Added remote open/close windows in Sync car settings (modify APIM 7D0-09-01)
    • Source info: FORScan Ford Explorer 11-20MY
  • Disabled door ajar chimes and engine startup chimes (modify IPC 720-01-02),
  • Enabled traffic sign recognition (TSR)
    • Enabled “traffic sign recognition” in IPC module configuration
    • Changed IPC module 706-01-01 as built from 0B26 99C9 A9 to 0B26 99DA A9
    • Source info: Traffic sign recognition on Fiesta MK8 >2017 - Page 17 - FORScan forum
    • Note: The TSR setting I enabled looks like it was designed for Europe. I tested it and it works for speed traffic signs in the US but the symbol on the digital instrument cluster looks like a European speed limit sign and it may not recognize any other road signs in the US. Also, it replaces the speed limit sign from the navigation system on the digital instrument cluster.
Some future modifications I hope to complete when the internet figures more things out about the new 2020 escapes:
  • Enable lane centering (the titanium trim has this feature)
    • Lane centering assist and traffic jam assist are listed in PSCM module
    • Needs adaptive cruise control (ACC) and a steering wheel switch to activate
  • Enable Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IAAC)
    • I enabled “Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control” in IPC module but observed no changes with ACC, likely needs more changes in other modules and in Sync settings to enable
    • Video on IAAC:
  • Disable pedestrian alert sounder (may not be possible)
  • Add hybrid battery gauge (may not be possible)
    • I enabled “Battery Voltage Display” in IPC module but observed no changes on the digital instrument cluster
  • Enable Intelligent AWD screen on digital instrument cluster (should be possible)
    • I enabled “all wheel drive gauge” in IPC module but observed no changes on the digital cluster. Likely need to change IPC as built but old mods are not working (may be because digital instrument cluster is new)

I tried enabling global open/close using the plain English text options in the BCM. There were multiple items for each so I enabled them all. I also check the DDM and the PDM and saw global close was enabled. I got global open to work by double press then hold with the unlock button. I tried global close by double press then hold with the lock button but it doesn’t work. Has anyone else with this problem gotten the global close to work? Am I doing something wrong with the remote?

I’ve got a 2020 SEL.
Thanks!

I was able to get global close working. I used the explorer spreadsheet linked above and looked at the DDM and PDM. The issue is that Ford changed the enable digit from a “1” to a “0” in those modules. Forscan is still programmed to set a “1” when you enable global close via plain text in those modules. I selected “disable” in the plain text options and it global close works!
I was also able to add the options to turn global open/close on and off via sync.

Hi there @philme , I have a titanium And I found your comment in another forum:

"No, I was not able to get IACC working. The IPMA module gives a DTC and the instrument panel says "Intelligent Cruise Control Speed Sign Recognition Not Available". Here is what I changed that did not work:
1) Enable Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) in IPC control module
2) Changed IPMA 706-01-01 to xxxx xxDA xx to enable traffic sign recognition fusion mode with Nav - I confirmed TSR is working correctly
3) Changed IPMA 706-01-02 to xxx9 xxx xxxx to enable IACC via camara
4) Changed IPC 720-09-02 to 2xxx xxxx to enable IACC on IPC (2 or 3 ford explorer)
5) Changed APIM 7D0-09-02 to xxxE xxxx xxxx - this adds IACC option to Sync display - check F-150 spreadsheet for the right setting for your specific vehicle options"

2: (I found "DB" for a ford explorer XLT with Intelegent)
3: (I found "A" for a ford explorer XLT with Intelegent)

I also added:

7D0-09-02
xxxx
x*xx
xxxx
F=TC RSC, AC enabled, TSR enabled

7D0-09-02
xxxx
xxxx
x*xx

D=TSR enabled, TPMSL enabled, TPPD disabled, CS enabled

I get the same europian sign and the same IPMA error so maybe it's not possible.

I did find that Auto highbeams works though:
Auto Highbeams/ Activepark /Efficiency Level
720-01-01
xxxx
xxxx
x*xx

2=AP disabled, AHB enabled, EAL disabled
4=AP enabled NA, AHB disabled, EAL disabled
6=AP enabled NA, AHB enabled, EAL disabled

It’s a 7-zip file.

Here is another mod I found:

Enable rear passenger reminder:
7D0-09-04xxxxxxxxx*xx

0 = Disabled
2 = Enabled

Configurable in settings.

So I've made some progress getting intelligent cruise to work,

Here's what I tried so far:

706-01-01 FROM 0426 99C9 A9 TO 0426 99DB A9

706-01-02 FROM 2076 553A A4 TO 207A 553A A4

720-09-02 FROM 000D 21 TO 300D 21

7D0-09-02 FROM 206C 4E00 05 TO 207E 4F00 0D

I tried those and still get the error, since the error says, "lost communication from apim"

I downloaded Lincoln Corsair Asbuilt into the APIM.

The cruise works but I still need to debug the APIM config.
