I'm looking for opinions on anyone's experience pertaining to my questions.

My wife's car is a 2013 Escape Titanium. We bought it used almost 5 years ago. It's been a relatively reliable SUV. 58000 miles.

I'm thinking about buying something new, possibly a 2018+ Escape Titanium or a different make.

The other SUV's I'm thinking about are:

2018+ VW Tiguan SEL Premium R line.

2018+ Hyundai Tucson Ultimate.

2018+ Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve.

2019 Volvo XC40

All these have their plus's and minus's to numerous to get into.

The wife is happy with what she has, but I'd like to update her vehicle.

I'm sure we are all pretty much car geeks so I'm just looking for opinions on these other vehicle's.

Any personal experience with any of them would be helpful.

I don't want to start a name bashing thread, just get some input.

I do a lot of research, and I'm into the exploratory stage right now.

Appreciate any thoughts.

I recently test drove (several times) the XC40. Interesting car. Not anywhere as quiet as our 15 Escape...Felt the ride was bid choppy, not at all up to "luxury" standards. Pretty small crossover for pretty big bucks when "well" equipped.

That's what I've got to assist.

Good luck with your search.

My advice is listen to your wife.
Sooner or later she will want a new car.
In the meantime, save money for the down payment.

In 2013 I wanted a new car; wife said no. Two weeks later I was laid off. We got the new car in December 2014.

in early 2019 I wanted a new car. She said no. In November she said,”it’s time.” Bought the car in December.
