I am wondering if anyone has hooked up a power inverter (1500w) directly to the 12v battery in their hybrid or plug or plug in hybrid. I know a lot of people are doing it to their rav4 primes. (
). Wondering if anyone has done anything similar to their escape.

Ford specifically states not to hook anything directly to the negative battery terminal on any of their models as this will cause issues with the BMS.
The 12v battery on the PHEV/Hybrid is the power supply for booting up the electronics, if you run it down the car will not wake up no matter how much power is in the HVB.

I hooked a 2500 watt inverter to both of my previous Escape Hybrids, a 2008 and 1 2012, no problem.
I've yet to need to do this with my 2021 Escape PHEV, but it should work.
I leave them in run mode so the 12 volt battery doesn't run down, the engine would cycle to keep up charge.

Note also, I connected negative to the frame of the vehicle, not directly to the battery.
A great emergency power system during our annual South Carolina hurricanes.
