There are only 12 presets for AM, FM & XM combined? I hope I'm missing something somewhere. 2022 SE standard radio.

That would be correct from what I've seen, the SEL\Ti get a third carousel screen giving them a total of 18.

Check the SM settings. I think they allow for up to 5 pages of 5 presets = 25.

I'm running 4 pages right now, 20 presets total - 15 SXM and 5 FM.

Even though the settings are in SXM, you can preset them to any band you want.

I plan to go out in the morning while it's just uncomfortably hot, not intolerably hot, and see if I can figure out anything more.
