I have a 2013 1.6l ecoboost escape, on start up in park car is making a rattling noise, turning off the a/c will sometimes cause the noise to go away or atleast make in drastically less noticeable, as well switching from park to drive or reverse will cause the same thing, noise will become less noticeable. Sometimes putting it into reverse or drive will make it go away completely for a while and then it will come back very intermittently, underneath the car the rattling sounds like it is coming from the bottom of the engine, or turbo. Almost sounds like a heat shield rattling but all the heat shields seemed to be very tight and not moving. In neutral revving the engine will make the noise dissapear and upon decel it becomes almost a violent and constant rattle. Driving actually seems very normal.. no smoke, not bucking or hard shifts. No engine codes or anything.
