2020 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid. One of the rear bumper sensors (passenger side) is loose, not falling out , is there an easy fix? (can I access it from under the bumper easily myself?). I did speak to my son he's a ford mechanic, who seems to think I should be able to ....no help he is out of state LOL. It is impossible to get an appointment at the dealership as most here are no longer open on Saturdays. I would have to take time off from work to get this done.

Is this just center button or the surround?
The surround is ultrasonically welded to the cover, so a fix on that would either be a new bumper cover or using something like epoxy or maybe Gorilla Glue to reattach it.
The center which is the sensor has a set of clips on each side, depending on which sensor it is you may be able to push it forward and get it snapped in.
Taking off the rear cover isn't that hard to do, your son should be able to print/export the pages from the service manual so that you can look at the instructions.

Hi, it's the top of the sensor where it blends in /connects to the black part of the bumper. it's like it had come disconnected
I can ask my son to provide that info, and then he will forget to send them to me LOL
I have attached a pic so you can see , first pic is the one that is loose at the top (ie it has play) the second pic is one that doesn't have any play. Maybe they are supposed to be this way? I just happened to notice when putting my bike rack on and off the hitch , any input would be most helpful. ...Sorry the lighting in the garage is horrible and backed the car in last night

When the surround on ours broke loose from the bumper, I took a soldering iron and remelted it to the bumper. I basically re ultrasonically welded it back. I was afraid epoxy or glue wouldn't hold it. Then the sensor snapped right in.

I had two sensors pushed in. After 2 dealers and a body shop estimate of $800.00, I took a shot at it. The solution.
1) Remove bumper. I followed this guy

2) I cleaned and sanded the rear of the bumper.
3) Removed sensors, from clips.
4) Epoxied clips to bumper noting the correct orientation. (Tabs North and south. Two possibilities. Choose the angle with a sensor pointing straight out compensating for angle of bumper)

5) I used heavy objects to hold the clips tight while the epoxy set-up. I also reinforced the other two sensors with remaining epoxy.
6) I waited 2 hours and put the sensors in the clips
7) Re installed bumper.

It's like new again. If you know how to remove a pop rivot and remove a few screws, you can do this. But if you damage the bumper, it's $800.00 at the body shop to put it back together for you. So know your limits.

I was out of warranty. But I love my 2.0 liter eco boost titanium. As problems go, this one was minor.
