I've gotten it a few times but it's usually after my car has been parked for a few days. If it's happening 10 minutes after you get out of the car I feel like that's not right. That message pops up about 10 minutes after I get out of the car....every time. I've started it via the key fob, but still get the message.
What would be the battery SOC that would trigger this event? All is well here. This is normal if you haven't driven the vehicle in a while, though I wouldn't personally expect to see multiple notifications, especially within a day.
Agreed, it's not right. HOWEVER, it's only been a nuisance since the "Stay at Home" order. My time in the Escape has been minimal, mostly to the store for food. Maybe I have to take a long, long ride to clear this notification. Also it's been a couple of months since I had to put gas in it.I've gotten it a few times but it's usually after my car has been parked for a few days. I am wondering what this says about the ability of the battery to hold a charge when used for intermittent and short trips? Are you finding that the engine runs more frequently during periods of such use? In other words, will the intermittent and short trip scenario take sways some of the advantages of the hybrid? This morning I drove 3 miles to the doctor, then back. 30 minutes later I got the message. So overall, went 6 days after the big drive with no messages. Blame it all on low useage due to our stay at home guidelines.
