The wife has 2018 S escape the SYNC works intermittently and I am reasonably sure APIM is bad. I believe the APIM is on passenger side of center console. From looking at pictures of others disassembling them I could read a part number. Problem is that number says it is a voice recognition module. Gave the dealer my VIN he gives a part number for SYNC module when I look it up is showing behind the screen in the drawing. does anyone know if the voice module is also the APIM?

The APIM is in the console.
Since this is an S trim, you can use the APIM from any S or SE from 2016-2019 that has the 4" screen.

so what you are saying is APIM and voice module are the same. the one I saw was part # FL3T-14D212-RB doesn't show on fords website a google search showed it as voice module can I get a new one or stuck with used one. BTW I had seen this video

I bought the voice recognition module on EBAY the donor vehicle was 2018 Escape S the site said it was compatible with the wife's

you will probably need to mate it to your car. You'll need Forscan or something to edit the As-Built tables

Thanks everyone for the advice and suggestions. I swapped out the voice recognition module with a used one, same part number same year and model and it worked with out re-programming it. My guess is since it doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles the as- builts were the same
