Since there's already a thread on this for v3.0 and younger, here's one for v3.4+ as there are some differences. Note, this is specific to 3.4 Build 19200, which I believe covers FEs from the factory. There are some real world examples, along with the generic command for reference. When in doubt, push the button and say "Commands" for a simple list by feature.

Navigation (Assume Vehicle in Michigan):

Find an address
Find an address in Ohio*
Find an address in Detroit*

* - You can request to search any state or province name, or any city in the current state/province you're in at this point.

Find a place
Find a place in Ohio*
Find a place in Detroit*
Find a place along route
Find a place near my destination

* - Same guidelines apply as with address search. If you'd like to search for a category or a major retail/restaurant chain, just say replace "place" with that. For example, "Find a gas station", "Find the bass pro shops in Auburn Hills", "Find the next Wendy's", etc. This only works for major chains that HERE has identified in the map data for that particular release.

An alternative to searching another location is to first say "Find a place", then "Change search area". For vehicles built with 19200, they should have updated nav voice data such that you can say the city + state or city + province (English) here instead of first having to say "in a city", "change state", etc. For example, "Find a place", "Change search area", "Windsor, Ontario". You can also say only the city name if it's in your current state, e.g. "Detroit" in this example. The prompt will tell you if you can say it this way or not.

I'll expand more on the above as I get a chance.

FYI - Now that it's warming up where most of us are, if you're trying to use VR with the windows down note it may be problematic. I haven't had any issues yet myself, but I've had several mis-recognitions come in that are clearly wind buffeting across the microphone...which kills recognition. You can get a little interference if you're maxing our A/C with the defroster on and all vents aimed up, but it's not nearly what it used to be prior to the new microphone location.

Now that the 19Q1 map data is available for download, and the core software update should be available soon, I figured I'd update this thread with the new functionality. First, the nav bug for address searches defaulting to Michigan has been fixed in build 20136+. They'll now default to your current state for the generic "Find an Address" requests. The below commands also are now supported with 19Q1 map data:

Find a Place in <City Name>
Find an Address in <City Name>
Find <Brand Name> in <City Name>

--> For these, the city name is no longer limited to cities in your current state. If you're in Michigan, you can say "Find an Address in Daytona Beach, Florida" or "Find a Starbucks in Toronto" for example. You don't NEED to say the state/province, but it's best to. If you only provide a city, it'll take the one in your state/province (If I said only Detroit, it'll take Detroit, Michigan automatically) or pop a list of options to select from. Note that in English this covers cities in the US/Canada. In French, Canada only and in Spanish, Mexico only since that's where the pronunciation data is available from HERE.
