Hello,
I’ve been having this problem since yesterday, I will warm my car up in the morning for a few minutes (I’m in Ontario, so it’s cold but this car has been through way way colder than it was today or yesterday) and while it’s warming up, all is fine, I start driving and once I’ve been on the road for two or three minutes my main screen will flash on and off. It will be regular brightness for about one second, super dim for half a second, then turn off completely for about three seconds and start the cycle again. It doesn’t seem to matter how far I drive, if I have auto-brightness on or off or anything.
The voice control, Bluetooth, radio, navigation etc all works, I can use the screen when it’s one but when it is dim or off I can’t touch it.
Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do? I tried to perform a master reset but I couldn’t find the setting with the time I had when the screen was on.

One sole post from each person but no replies here since to advise of any success sadly but try a soft reset and if that does not work try a master reset as suggested before here. Plenty of videos on the 'net of how to do both if you google your model.
And please let us know how you go with it or need further help. :)

I'm having the same problem. Found a replacement APIM on eBay, but the seller advised if may only need the screen replaced due to faulty backlight (that and new USB hub came to $260). Just ordered it, and I'll report back if that fixes the flashy thing.

I read somewhere there was a batch of faulty screens made early on for Sync 3.

Here it is, folks! Replaced the screen and I'm back in business. New APIM not needed, and much less expensive. Kit included screen, new USB hub, and thumb drive with Sync 3.4 upgrade. Screen alone would have been $129. Bought from #glamzfamily on eBay. SYNC Repair | eBay Stores. Great communications ands helpful tips. Highly recommended.
