Okay so my codes been blinking at me on the dash and I was finally able to pinpoint which brake light is out. When the car is off and I do a brake test I get nothing turn power on depress brakes back left lights up back right does not. So I go to change it but here's the weird thing when I open the back hatch key off to access the bolts to do the job I notice the bulb is light up. So my question is, is it safe to change the bulb while it's light up like that? Or am I possibly having other issues. Bc when I looked for the brake check I swear it was that same bulb that wasn't lighting up that needs changing then it's lit as like a parking light...

2013 it's the outter top back bulb.. right?
I've highlighted it on the back top right there. So right there when brakes are pressed that doesn't light up the top above windshield does and the far left does but then turn key off open back hatch and it lights up. Like it's the interior light setting turning it on not the brake pedal but it's the same exact bulb so its not a blown bulb...i

It's a dual filament bulb, 1 filament is marker the other is brakes.
Need to replace the bulb.
Okay so it's safe to do this while the bulb is lit up? Meaning take the fixture off back of the car then turn the bulb holder counter clockwise to remove from housing then grip pulling the bulb off... just checking cuz my gut told me not to fool with the bulb unless I can get it off ya know?

Ty I got the new bulb in everything back on properly with a lil bit of elbow grease and some help from my man popping the fixture off & pulling the bulb, but yeah my main worry was pulling the bulb while lit but I just left the back hatch opened long enough for the interior lighting to shut off and we are good! Appreciate the help!
