I was talking to some people at my work (Firestone) about what I could do to my car to make it sound better, and one of them suggested that I try to find an article or forum post about the topic. I'm glad they did, because I found this forum! It's exactly what I needed to figure out what options are available.
After reading a few different threads about customizations and upgrades, I have a few questions about brands.
Is WeatherTech a good choice for mats, window detectors, and things like that? They offer several of the things I am wanting, and their name popped up on this forum more than once. (UPDATE: I talked with somebody who bought a set of WeatherTech mats for their vehicle and they said they were not very good. Specifically that they curl on the edges. He recommended a brand called Tux. I looked and they don’t make mats for my year, but do seem better quality than the WeatherTech.)
The first major upgrade I want is a better air intake and I am planning on going with K&N. I know they are good, but is there better?
One of the things I want to do is to get aftermarket rims, and if there is enough room increase the wheel size to 19". One of my Co-workers suggested the brands XXR and ESR as being cost effective options. Does anybody have experience with them?
In the future I would like to upgrade the exhaust system, and I found a company called MagnaFlow which looks good. Does anybody know if the performance exhaust system they offer is effective?
Another future upgrade would be to add some nerf bars, and I found a brand called Romik that has a small selection of them. Anybody know if they are decent?
