Ford Escape PHEV I purchased has failed in both front. There is no value for the car monetarily and functionally. I did not buy a HEV. It is missing "P".
Stuff happens. We don't know how long before Ford has a fix for you, but I am confident they will return your missing "P" as quickly as they can.

I don't think there are any villains here. Samsung delivered some batteries to Ford (and other OEMs) that may have an internal defect. Samsung did not do that intentionally. Ford is likely just as frustrated as the effected Escape PHEV owners and they know it is detrimental to their quality reputation even though they did not design/build the battery.

They are deploying a software update to detect if their is a problem within your battery. If there is, Ford/Samsung will replace it under warranty. I'm not sure what else could be demanded from Ford short of replacing all of the batteries even though most are probably fine. Ford will also likely have some kind of customer satisfaction program to compensate affected owners that are not able to plug in and charge their batteries. I'm betting that if you are patient, Ford will make it right for you.

I get this everytime I end a drive when the battery has not bee charged for a couple days. Basically driving in HEV and not plugging in regularly. I've received them since I bought it almost 2 year ago, but they were less prevalent before as I would charge every couple of days. Now, it knows I haven't plugged in for weeks so after every so gle drive I get this notification.
Have you had the TSBs applied? I had Ford TSB 24-2288 applied and have had no battery drain issues since then and at my snowbird location (3.5 months) I am not able to plug it in.

I'm honestly not sure. Exactly how would I ask such thing? Today received yet another notice from Ford for the driver seat buckle replacement for (amazing), so I'll follow up when I go in for that I guess.
Your dealer should be able to tell if the software update for TSB 24-2288 has been applied. Just ask them.

Even though my 2023 Escape PHEV is not affected (so far) by this recall this thread has been interesting to follow. Ford (and Samsung) are addressing the problem and the software update is now available that will determine if your battery is defective and requires replacement under warranty. Owners have been able to continue driving their Escapes and the dollars involved by not being able to charge has not resulted in an egregious financial burden.

Only my opinion, but jumping on the band wagon for a class action lawsuit or buyback are wildly premature. Ford will fix this issue if you give them enough time. This is minor compared to what Chevy Bolt owners endured. No, I am not a Ford attorney, just a Ford customer.
