Long story short, my previous vehicle took a dive and needed more repairs than the worth of the vehicle, so we set out to find something that sat a little higher off the ground (we live in the midwest so I prefer to be off the ground in winter), gets good gas mileage for some commuting, and something that looks sharp! I find some of the competition to be less than attractive, but the escape was reasonably aggressive and fun looking.
Alas.

Things I dont like
I would suggest to any new owner to really go through the manual as well as the center instrument cluster. That LCD has TONS of customization options for the vehicle. Everything from remote start options, auto options, display options, lighting options, etc. The stereo display has many manageable options as well. Overall we are REALLY enjoying the vehicle. Im extremely impressed with the 2.0 Turbocharged engine. It sounds and feels like a v6...not like your standard chincy 4 cylinder. So far so good! Here are some pics I snapped last night/this morning so youll see some dusk shading in the silver and some morning condensation lol.. You will notice the different between bluetooth vs carplay. Also of note that I took the interior pics this morning, and the bluetooth display changes to a nice blue background during daylight hours. I also opted for WeatherTechs (a must IMO for snow states) as well as a trunk organizer I picked up on amazon thats a lifesaver for keeping groceries from moving around in the back. I apologize for the quality of the pics.

Things I like
- Its extremely quiet to drive
- It looks sharp and not overly feminine for a crossover
- 2l Turbocharged Engine feels and performs fantastic
- Sensible Gas Mileage
- Comfortable seats
- FordPass will be great in winter
- Interior styling is best in its class in my opinion
- Lots of customization options in the instrument cluster LCD
Things I dont like
- Auto Engine Off. If you havent perfected it, it jumps off the brake like you botched a clutch
- Apple Carplay is awesome, but the display is inferior to Bluetooth (pics below)
- Apple Carplay display doesnt change for nighttime. It still just blurs the background image and can be bright (you can turn the display off)
- Auto Engine Off needs to be turned off EVERY time (if you choose)
- Speedometer to the right side of cluster (however you can put mph in the center lcd)
- I IMMEDIATELY had to turn off the AutoHighBeams. Nightime highway driving will have your brights turning on/off/on/off. They can be turned off permanently fwiw thankfully.
