Hello to all, I just joined. Back in August we purchased a 2021 Escape Titanium, a couple of issues and questions.
While at the Ford dealer to get an oil change and tire rotation, the door guide spot welds came loose. I've seen a couple of SSM's on this, and it seams that Ford's fix is to replace the door. Just wondering if any of you have had the same issue. I understand a recall may be in the works.

Next, the windshield washer hose has come loose, and it's under the hood insulation blanket, i"m thinking on letting the car warm up good, then removing the pad myself to find and fix the leak. It seams a hose has come off, as the fluid runs out from under the pad. Has anybody done this before?

Thanks!
Mike.

1) I haven't had it happen to ours, but it is documented as happening to some people. Ford's fix is to replace the door if you're in warranty. Out of warranty I've seen posts where shops have drilled the spot welds out and used rivets..
2) I've not see this one, the plastic clips holding the hood insulator pop right off, there's nothing special to pulling them.

Do yourself a favor and sell the truck. I bought the same SUV and trim package and have had more issues than I can remember. The latest being that all four of the tires that came with the vehicle need to be replaced. Supposedly they're 30,000 mile tires and even though the truck barely has 7,000 miles on it the replacement cost will not be covered under the warranty. I'm selling mine and will never buy another Ford product again. Save yourself the headaches that will surely happen and get rid of the piece of s**t while you can.

I have a 2020 Titanium (first year of this generation in which most of the bugs appear) loaded with just about all of the packages/options, and I have had NO problems. I have taken it in for all of the recalls, even though I had not experienced any of the problems. I think you may have just been unlucky and gotten a rare bad vehicle. I have owned Fords for decades and not one was a lemon. Did you invoke your state’s lemon law for these problems? Don’t curse the whole company for one vehicle’s problems.

Our 2021 (bought in in December 2021) went through the battery in 2 years and both front doors have the spot welds breaking. I drilled them out and riveted one and getting ready to do the other. Spot welds should not be busting after 2 years. I have had a lot of cars during my life (I'm 62) and this is the first one I have ever had that had spot welds busting. Manufacturer defect that costs $2500 each door for Ford to repair. I chose to spend half a day to repair it myself. Now the shifter puts itself in Park when I back up and come to a stop.

I totally agree about the fact that's it's Ford's defect. I told that to the service guy, he said he'd turn it into Ford, and that same day Ford responded saying they will take of it, even with 48,000. miles. I guess I got lucky, or maybe Ford is getting closer to getting it's head out it's butt, and realizing that perhaps a recall should be done. I won't hold my breath.

If you have wifi auto updates turned on it will eventually update new versions etc. apart from maps if you have Nav.

When you say it just keeps spinning are you referring to when you are searching for wifi updates on sync or when you initially enter the wifi password to connect?

If it is the former you are probably up to date and it cannot locate anything later causing it to endlessly spin.

You can find the latest update by going to 'settings > general > about sync' or similar and the latest version update is 3.4.23188.
