I cleaned it, hooked the hoses back up to it, left it unplugged, connected the obd reader to the car, erased the codes, plugged the sensor back in, turned the car on, in two seconds it went back into p1299 mode. read the obd codes and they're back.
The sensor has no moving parts and it wasnt an issue before I changed out the temp sensor.
I'm really thinking I fried the computer when i used the jumper wire on the coolant sensor pigtail. That's when it went into P1299
What jumper wire on the coolant sensor?? You jumped the sensor and or connecter to see what would happen??...

At this point, I would stop and take it somewhere to have it diagnosed. Electrical issues can be a real PITA unless you have a very good understanding of how a vehicles particular system works. The basics are the same but the interactions between the sensors, the gauges and the PCM/ECM and other intricacies vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and even model to model.

$120 for a diagnosis vs a potentially infinite money parts cannon.

Agreed, I'm taking it to them tomorrow morning.

Got the new sensor from the dealer, only $26 so wasnt much more than online.
the dealer wants $130 to just "diagnose" it, and if the computer needs to be reflashed it's another $130 and if that doesnt fix it who knows how much more.
So my options are:
A) take it to the dealer and best case scenario is I walk out of there $260 lighter IF the computer isnt shot.if it is I go to plan B.
B) buy a replacement computer from flagship for $275 and hope that fixes it.
idk what to do at this point.
I would spend the $130 to correctly get it diagnosed just make sure it goes to an experienced master tech if possible not a newbie I was a service manager at dealership so make sure to ask trust me.
I'M not sure who Flagship is but if you need any O.E. new parts check out this place I was told about, www.fordpartsprime.com great prices and service I saved a lot of money here so thought i'd pass on the info. Best of luck to you.

Will do, Thank you!

They want $1,495 if they get the pcm qnd $492 if I can find one and they program it
I can't seem to find one that matches the first four and last four digits

??‍♂
So they say its $1k for a new one??...Plus $500 to program??..Can it be found at a junk yard from a recent wreck of same yr and engine??..

Picking up the car tomorrow, after they installed the new computer it still kept having the same issue, they finally replaced a "sub harness" and the problem was solved. AC still not working, they said that their diagnostic equipment pointed to the ambient temp sensor, I'm picking up the car tomorrow and taking the ambient temp sensor with me. ??‍♂

So are they charging you for a new computer too or not, since is was the wiring harness??..

They made the p1299 code issue go away but after I changed the ambient temp sensor out and cleared the code the ac worked for a day and now the compressor is not kicking in again. I'm about to set fire to this stupid thing
Move to a colder climate..Just kidding..Before you set fire to it..Start from scratch on the A/C....Did you check for the proper Freon amounts with a gauge.. ??..Compressor belt tension...Evaporator temperature sensor, Ambient Air sensor. A/C pressure transducer...A/C clutch relay intermittent...
