Moonroof Opens by itself

Has anyone ever had the moon roof open by itself when starting the car? Twice this week i hit the engine start button and see the moon roof open by itself. The first time i wasn't sure i pressed the button or not, but the 2nd time i am 100% certain i hadn't. My hand hadn't even left the engine start button before it started opening.

I've watched it since and it hasn't happened again, but its a little disconcerting.

Anyone else have this happen or know of a solution?

? Another case of 'Random BCM Internal Logic Confusion" (who knows why this happens but sometimes it does) ?

If so, disconnecting the negative battery cable at the jump-post for ~15~20 minutes might set things right. That allows / forces a 'hard reset' of the BCM logic (as well as all other modules so you'll have to re-pair your phone, maybe restore some other settings, but it won't harm anything to try it).

Among the many other possibilities are low battery voltage, poor battery terminal connection, or BMS sensor/harness problems/corrosion, all which are known to cause random 'gremlin-like' electronic systems behavior (Escapes don't like low voltage situations, even though the car may 'start and run' fine).

I'd try the reset first if you're certain you aren't pushing anything to cause it.

Yes. It seems to happen to me about twice a year. No explanation, but if I recall, it's after heavy rains (my memory is bad, so that's just a speculation).

I'd second the low battery thing... I don't recall it happening since I replaced the battery last winter.
