Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but find myself in the same situation with an escape I just picked up for my 16yr old. No factory backup camera, but have purchased a factory camera w/ the trim and plug.
Basically I have all of this i.ebayimg.com/images/g/VGkAAOSwzkVfW-0C/s-l1600.jpg
Like you, my escape is not prewired for a backup camera, and the car side harness is smaller then the camera side. I'll nees to run wire up to the Sync system (which I plant swap w/ a Sync 3 system). Question is what do I need to connect to power up the camera and connect it to the APIM, all of these or just 1,3,4,and 5?
Pin 1. Power (constant 12V + on rear junction box 5A F29)
Pin 2. "LIN" (wire to BCM C2280A pin 21; apparently this is a digital control bus wire to activate the cam [IMHO don't try feeding any "#" Volts DC to this lest you let the 'magic smoke' out of the cam]; you may find that you cannot make the OEM cam 'activate/turn-on' at all lacking a proper digital signal from a properly programmed OEM BCM for that feature)
Pin 3. Video - (to APIM C2383 pin 15)
Pin 4. Video + (to APIM C2383 pin 14)
Pin 5. Ground
Pin 6. Shield for Video + and - (single-ended, terminates just before ACM C2383)
