Just to let you know, the proper fill level is 4 or 5 millimeters below the fill hole. If you filled it to the hole, don’t be surprised if you get some running out of your vent tube.
I searched and found some conflicting replies on the topic. Due to the 2013 (and later) design, knowing where that 4mm level is a real challenge :geek:

Is it the same oil for transfer case and rear differential?
946ml is enough for both?

The plug look's different like torx 40. It's like square one in european version, is it this one for oil change?

The fluid levels are in the owners manual. And no, they are not the same. Also, Ford changes the plugs all the time. One year it might be torx, next year it’s a square drive. Best thing to do is figure out what yours is.

Right thanks I have a look.

Is it possible to change oil in transfer case without this special vaccum pump?
(the plug is only on the bottom?)

Drain from the bottom and use one of these pump to fill from the side plug.

All right I was sure there is only bottom plug, sorry.
I have to see my dealer, in my owners manual it's info about only oil engine, gearbox etc.

In the 2014 Escape manual on page 266, specifications are given for PTU (18 fl oz Motorcraft SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant) and rear diff fluid (2.4 pt Motorcraft SAE 80W-90 Premium Rear Axle Lubricant).

I'm not saying these specs are the same for the Kuga, just that they are listed in the Escape manual.

There are no procedures in the 2014 Escape manual for checking or changing these fluids.

Thanks for all help with find correct oils. UK dealer had a big problem to confirm correct oils. But finally all oils are the same. But prices much higher. 1 lt branded Ford for PTU cost $77.

But I will order Red Line oils, 5 bottles total price $116 for:
2 lt MT-LV (manual gearbox),
1 lt 75W140 (PTU),
2 lt 75W90 (Rear Diff),

1 lt branded Ford for PTU cost $77.
The invoice from my recent service said that the dealer used 3 of part "MSB75" at 24.98 each.

Amazon has XY-75W140-QL "Genuine Ford Fluid XY-75W140-QL SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant - 1 Quart" for 25.27 each. A quart is 32 oz and the capacity per the manual is 18 oz. So why did I get billed for 3 quarts? Time to visit the dealer again. The PTU is not like the transmission, I doubt they did several drain/fill cycles.

Old PTU oil stinks so much, was black with metal particles like very fine sand.

Yikes! Ford dirty dish water

It’s in your owners manual
Yes it's 1360 ml. But in this case it's only part oil change. It might be impossible to sucked out everything by filling plug. It's very possible 968 ml might be enough for this job.

Maybe, maybe not. If not, you'll have to close it up, crawl out from underneath, drive to the store on low fluid and buy another bottle, drive home, crawl under again...

meanwhile, another bottle is $12 per Amazon. Seems like an easy decision to me.

I did my 2013 Titanium 2.0T 81,000 miles rear-diff today...the fill plug (no drain plug) was the 5/16th Allen style which I had to cut part off to allow clearnece to undo the bolt. I approached the plug from the top down as the rear cross frame has a lip reducing angle clearance. The magnet was FULL of sludge. I tried to extract as much fluid as I could with a brake bleeder vacuum pump and it was SO THICK and DARK.
Once I got to the point of no more fluid (diff-case does not allow for easy insertion of suction tube to the bottom..) I then pumped in 1 pint of NEW fluid till it slowly dripped out.
At some point I'll do the process again now that fresh NEW oil is mixing with the OLD fluid.

Clearly these are not sealed for life and need attention (and apparently are NOT filled to level from the factory)
Do you any pictures to share so i can follow? Im planning to change my rear diff of my 2013 escape SE. Thank you
