Tire size help

The 235/60R18 isn't the correct size- the 235/50R18 is.

If you want higher tyre sidewalls the best way to achieved that (and not possibly adversely affect the gearing, braking, speedo etc) is to fit 17" wheels with 235/55R17 tyres. That's one of the factory OEM wheel and tyre sizes, and it is the same overall diameter as your 235/50R18 size. So won't affect the gearing, braking, speedo etc.

Unless you're going off road regularly, or drive on terrible pot holed roads, the 235/50R18 should be fine.

I'm in New England. That's why I went -1 to 18s. Much better ride.
I reckon 18" is the probably best all round compromise for ride, handling and preventing unwanted wheel damage.

Silly me went out and ordered a set of 19" aftermarket wheels when I first bought the Kuga. Before they'd arrived I discovered the pitfalls when I damaged one of the factory 19" wheels. So I've ended up with a set of 19" and 17" wheels. The 17" get fitted when we go on holidays, or trips that could involve exploring on suss back roads.
