1. I see that in the picture there look like push pins. Mine came with twist knobs. I would send a message to the vendor to confirm first though.

2. The new shield comes with new hardware.

I emailed the vendor to confirm the push pins vs knobs issue. If he/she confirms the knobs, I think I'm gonna pull the trigger and grab one of these things.

UPDATE: Vendor states that they use push pins to secure the access panels/doors in place.

I'm gonna hold off on ordering.

I wonder why they stopped making the twist knob style?. I have the one with the twist knobs and I like that there is no push pin to remove and possibly loose. I do see that they dropped the price by $10 dollars however.

I dunno, but I'm bummed. Losing the push pins is a possibility, but how many times am I gonna have to pop them off for an oil change before I break a few, ya know? The price drop is just a temporary deal for a few days. It was $169 a couple days ago and it goes back up to $169 in another 4 days.

Just get the cover already and use some 3M velcro dual-lock on the acces panels! 3M dual-lock does amazing things, it's cheap and won't break like the pins you're concerned about.

FYI for everyone here looking for the aftermarket shield. On eBay they accept the offer of $100 if it is a best offer listing. Thats what I just paid after they rejected $85. Exchange to Canadian stinks but its gotta be half the price of that Ford Ballistic Felt trash.

I also recently purchased one off E-bay for an offer of $100 from this seller https://www.ebay.ca/itm/183142846603?ul_noapp=true. It arrived from China to Canada in 7 days. The original shipment contained a VX Tiguan shield. After contacting the seller about the error a replacement shield was mailed out the same day and the correct Escape shield arrived within a week.

Installed my under engine cover today after work. It was ordered on 10 July, 2021 and was delivered 25 August, 2012. I ordered through AliExpress and the store was Being Win Automobiles & Motorcycles Store. $129 USD.

I trimmed both front corners for clearance. And used heat and 2 pallet boards to increase the opening on the right side vent to mimic the opening of the stock cover.
By the way, the covers for the oil drain plug and filter and trans cover are hinged with one Phillips head screw to secure them closed.
