When I "remote start" my ride - the steering wheel warms up BUT the seats don't. When I get into my ride - the seats will then warm up. The seats show the high setting and on but it doesn't kick in until I get into the car and hit the start button to get out of remote start. I checked all the settings (via Settings/Vehicle/Remote) and all show "auto." Obviously, I am doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Check your settings for remote start under vehicle on the large screen.
You can't set the seat temp for a remote start, it will always come on at max.
It is set to "AUTO" (going through the screen access menu). It should be coming on when I remotely start my puppy. FWIW - it does come on automatically once I get into the car and hit START (after it was remotely started and running). Now, the steering is hot just not the seat. Thanks for the quick reply.

I set Vehicle Settings/ Remote Start Setup/ Last Settings ON.
If I have the heated seats turned on when I shut my car off the heated sets will come on every time I Remote Start
OK - made the change and no joy. I have it setup the same way I did on my Edge, Explorer and previous Escape. It just doesn't work on this puppy. Oh well...

Thanks for your suggestion.

If you put the settings to "Auto", the car sets its own "settings" when remotely started. You can change that to manual (I think that's what it's called) and whatever you have set the car on before you shut it off: heating, fan speed, heated seats on, etc..., those settings will be applied when you remote start the car.
Did it all - when I Remote Start the seats/steering wheel are ON BUT the seats are cold (steering wheel warm) when I get into the car. When I hit the Start Button to take it out of Remote Start - THEN the seat warms up. Obviously, I have a problem but it is something I can live with rather then let the dealer screw something up.

Thanks!

No that's actually how it works in the Escape.
The last settings only apply to climate (HVAC & rear defrost), it doesn't apply to seats and wheel, those only turn on when the ignition switch is pressed after a remote start.
Interesting - I remember it working the other way in all my other Ford's. Guess it is just another one of my many senior moments. Thanks!

My 2022 SEL Escape last settings applies to heated seats and steering wheel, HVAC & rear defrost. My remote start will turn on or not turn heated seats depending on whether they were on or off when I shut the car off. After five minutes of remote start at -22 F my car is comfortable to drive.
Thanks for the information. All my other FORD rides did the same thing. Obviously, I have a problem but just don't feel like going back to FORD and having it fixed right now. Maybe I will have them look at it on the next oil change. My concern is many times you take your ride in for a fix and you get it back with new problems. SMILE

Thanks again.

2023MY+ may have different logic in the DSM and FCIM with the change to Sync4.
Great suggestion. Something sure changed. :) I also noticed that having the 13 Inch Screen makes a difference with the Auto Start/Stop feature as well.

The 2023 Escape Remote Start Settings are different from the Sync 3 models but using the 2023 Escape HTML manual settings instructions should have the same result...
Thanks but I tried this already. My problem is that once I remotely start my ride and let it run for a few minutes. I jump in the car and my "seat" is cold but "steering wheel" is nice and warm. When I hit the "Start" THEN my seat starts to warm up (I don't hit anything - it just starts warming up). I double checked the settings and tried both ways (automatic and remember last settings) with the same results. The "seat" is set to "3". :(
