If you don't necessarily need a homelink system and would just like a cleaner solution for a garage door remote, I recommend getting this rearview mirror with integrated remote. I have it on my 2022 Escape SEL and it's great. Super easy to install. Drawback is that it's battery powered and not user replaceable. The battery is suppose to last 10 years though.

It appears that mirror does not have the daylight sensor built in.

It doesn't have auto dimming. I thought I would the lack of auto-dimming would bother me, but I don't have any glare issues. The Escape's back glass is already darkened from the factory. Then I put on 70% transmittance (or maybe it was 50%) ceramic tint on the back. The glass is dark enough that glare doesn't bother me.
