The sub is in the trunk/cargo area, hence the reason that it sounds like it's in the trunk.
Personally the B&O sub is good, you just need to take your settings to defaults and then adjust gradually to match the music instead of just cranking the bass up.

What do you mean by "everything" sounds in the trunk. I find the subwoofer blends very well....

But then, I fixed mine. My sub had an interference with a nearby bracket, resulting in a nice, loud BRAP whenever it played notes near 65Hz. I ran a frequency generator app on my phone through Bluetooth to identify the exact source. Mine was an easy fix once the covers where off, but not every car with the problem has my bracket.

This may help if its the same issue.

My 2021 Escape PHEV wi the B&O system is disappointing for me and my wife we love Classical Music and we tried to set the Bass just past mid-setting to enhance our musical preferences. Bass or Woofer rattles at any setting above center on the slider. Very disappointing for B&O System. Those that like the B&O Bass must be lucky or???

 

It is a known problem. Take it in to the shop and keep reporting the problem. Here is a link you can read more. Overall, I think the system sounds good, but this problem is still a pain in the ears!!

It's not the subwoofer itself. Some people get relief by tightening the screws. Some (like me) by adding noise dampening material on the area behind and near the subwoofer. I used the peel and stick kind I found on Amazon. There is a thread that shows how to take it all apart to get back there. If you are lucky, the dealer will put dampening material in for you but it's not difficult to do yourself.

 

I listen to a lot of Americana, bluegrass, folk, folk rock. I have the bass set at neutral or below. No issue with the bass.

 

It's not the actual sub, it's the way it's mounted. Look for a post by VladOhio, he provided excellent instructions on how to make the repair. I didn't follow his instructions to a "T", other than for how to access the sub, but I was able to get it to stop. If you want to tackle this yourself (took me about an hour not including getting a few parts to isolate the mounting screws) it can be fixed. I made the repair after my third trip to the dealer produced mediocre results. They replaced the sub twice, that isn't the problem, it's the mounting screw retainers that are rattling (at least on mine). Got some rubber flat washers, removed the sub and a module in the same area that was rattling, used two washers on each mounting screw to isolate and bent the bracket slightly and the sub is no longer buzzing away at 55-60hz. I might recommend downloading a tone generator app for your phone, I used one from TMSOFT. Send the tone through your system and you can lock right in on where the noise is coming from. Fortunately I'm handy enough to be able to make the repair, if you aren't, use the tone generator at the Ford dealer. To be honest, I did that and they still played dumb, "no fix provided from Ford" is what I was told. Maybe another dealer would have been better, limited choices in my area.
