In this video, the mechanic removes the battery without removing the air filter assembly.

He just removes the wipers and tray below the wipesr to gain access:

Have any of you done it this way?

I replaced my battery today using this method. It was actually quite easy. Removing the cowl is a whole lot easier than removing the air cleaner assembly.

The original battery lasted about 4.5 years.
