Installing Auto Climate Control

I'm pretty sure I know what the answer to this is...

As petty as it sounds, one of my biggest regrets is not buying an Escape with auto climate control. I thought that I never needed it on my Fiesta, so why would I need it on my Escape?

I am fidgeting with those knobs multiple times every single drive and it is driving me insane.

Does anyone know if it'd be possible to swap in auto climate controls or is this pretty much impossible?

I have the auto climate control, and still fidget with it.. because I like setting the temp and fan speeds independantly.
Otherwise... set it to low.. and the fans come on like a hurricane out of every duct to chill it fast, thus having to turn up your audio etc.

It is nice to have.. but thats about it.

The ONLY thing I like, is when I remote start, the temp/heated seats will turn on if needed or AC.. THAT is the only auto thing I like. Otherwise, ya....worthless.

So if you have remote start but not auto, you'll have to just leave the car the way you want it before you forget. In the menu system you may be able to turn the heated seats on with remote start, if it is the factory system.

@Knolly it would sure help a ton if you would put your model and trim level (at least) in your signature block so we could give you good answers to your questions ;-)

To your Q ... depending on what you've got the answer will range from "essentially impossible" to "wildly impractical" due to the huge number of different logic modules, logic programming, control modules and actual mechanical controls involved.

I like the auto climate control and barely touch it (other than to turn on recirc). Keep it set at 23.5C most of the summer and 20C most of the winter. I occasionally turn it down a little more on particularly sunny days or if I've worked up a sweat but for normal day to day driving, barely touch the controls.

I also like the auto climate control. I usually leave it set to one temp in the summer, depending on the outside temperature. I change it warmer in the winter. My last vehicle didn't have the Auto climate and I hated it. Seems like I was continually adjusting the fan speed and temperature setting. It was annoying.
