Have you tried closing the shade with the left button rather than trying to use the roof's right button to close it?

If you fully close the shade the sunroof is commanded to close from either the vent or the fully open position.. if that works every time it could be the right button itself.

When you try to close in the vent position on the right side switch, are you toggling as if you were going to open the sunroof or are you toggling close?

Toggle Close 1st opens in vented position,
Toggle Open 2nd closes vent position
Toggle Open 1st and 2x if vent is in open position will open sunroof.

 

okay, I have not been able to duplicate the 'stuck in vent position', but I have played with what Pilot Attitude suggested and it does force the sunroof to close even if vented, that will be helpful in troubleshooting along with the vent/close toggling, so thank you for that as well.I will mention to my dealer tomorrow to get their input to see if anyone else has had issues.I will post back what is learned.

 

I've had this issue from day one, and the dealer continues to say nothing is wrong. I recently recorded it happening.

Have you tried running the calibration on the sunroof motors?
