Mud and snow

I like those tires, but I like that red Lotus even more! I know...reality! At least I can fit in an Escape! You'll be very happy with the tires. Those are nice new rims by the way.

There is a classified page/section on this site. You should post the old rims there to get more potential traffic.

I found these three tire options upon checking at Discount Tire Direct today in the P235/60R17 size:
1) Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S (the updated version that me and others already have installed) (outlined white letters). The behave great on the pavement and on the dirt and have excellent snow traction from person experience. The sides of the treat have nice, beefy tread blocks for grabbing an uneven trail while protecting the tire from puncture. You can always turn the outlined white letters towards the inside when mounting the tires if you like the black side walls. From my experience (driving aggressive), expect at least 40,000 miles maybe as high as 60,000 miles out of them (more if you drive more conservative). Currently at $166.00 a tire shipped.
2) Cooper Discoverer ATP (black side wall). Although more of a highway tire than an all terrain tire, you still get the benefit of more ground clearance by increasing the tire size and the tread pattern should be decent in the snow and dirt...just less aggressive that the AT3's. And with black side walls, it is definitely more OEM-like. At $133.00 a tire shipped, it is more affordable too.

@Brimor installed even larger P235/65R17 tires and doesn't appear to have nay rubbing. His pics are here. So there are options out there...but the reality hasn't changed in that there are very few choices and what is available isn't cheap because of the rarity. But man is investment and upgrade worth it!!!

I found the sailun terramax A/T tires at my work. Here in Canada. My cost for the tires was $500. So pretty reasonable. As far as rubbing I've had no problems at all. The ride is way smoother also. I love the look of it.

Just came across these A/T's that seem to be available in a lot for size variety than most A/Ts! Thinking I may end up with them on our 2017 SE! They are the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail for Crossovers and SUVs! The sizes are more tailored to current crossovers! Like they have the stock 235/50/R18 size for the Escape with 18" rims, or even a slight bump up, which I will do, at a 235/55/R18! Pretty excited to find these yesterday!

Just got the Falkens in the last post installed on our Escape today and they are awesome! Size is a 235/55/R18 (One size up from stock) and they have a great aggressive look and fit no problem! Will report some more long term results, but the ride home was great, no change in cabin noise, and they have a 65000 mile tread-wear warranty!

nice was just looking at same tires for my 2018 escape se, going to try a different set up andchange rims but keep 17 inch size but 1/2 inch wider rim

Falken is a brand owned by Sumitomo Rubber USA, Buffalo, NY (former Goodyear plant). They also make Dunlop auto and motorcycle tires there, the latter I can attest to as being excellent milage, tread life and grip. I will be getting the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails for my FE when it's up for tires, if I still have it then. 1.5L: tick tock...

Looking to purchase this 1.6" lift kit for my escape and I'm trying to find out the biggest tire size (overall diameter) I will be able to run with out big rubbing issues. I don't mind a minor trimming if I have to do it but nothing major.

This is the lift kit:

I know I have seen people with the lift kits on here and bigger tires but having trouble finding them put together. Once I can figure out the overall tire size I can start my search for the A/T tire options.

I also am not concerned with going over that 3% rule.I am aware of it and the disclaimer that comes with it.

I would love to hear about people experiences with these things and pictures if they can share.
