You have to excuse my ignorance on this as I am not a "techie", but what do you mean "upload the .xml when I updated to v2.3"? The contents that I did a screenshot on were from the files that were downloaded from the Ford website for the 3.0 upgrade. I really do not know what you mean. With respect to 2.3, I installed every file that Ford provided when the 2.3 upgrade was "live".

As to the 3.0, yes, when I go on the Ford Owner's site, it says that I am eligible for the upgrade to 3.0, and to download the files.
So, when the update runs, it creates that .xml file at the end. You go back to the Ford Owner site and upload it so Ford knows what S/W version you're on. If you hook up the vehicle to a WiFi network, it'll also update eventually after a few days.

The file dates on your drive are from January, so those can't be the v3.0 files. Those are what you used last time, I'm guessing you updated around 1/8. Delete everything off that drive, then re-download the v3.0 software from the Ford Owner site. Extract the new files using the StuffIt Expander tool, and place them on the drive. Then, re-try the install. The reason it's cancelling out after a few minutes now is you're trying to re-install the same software on top of itself.

Also, to see what version you're installing, open the autoinstall.lst file in a text editor tool. It'll show the version towards the top. When you get the v3.0 files extracted, check for the 3 files (381, 391, 423) to start with "JR3T", for example:

JR3T-14G381-AL

Now this is totally weird. The files that I posted from the flash drive were files that I had downloaded from the Ford site yesterday. When I read your comments, I started to wonder if the files that were downloaded were wrong. I downloaded AGAIN the update files from Ford, and want to know something??? IT WORKED!
I was able to upgrade to 3.0 with no issue, though I did not get a two step confirmation, but rather one. I did check, and it did upgrade to 3.0. I have attached the screenshot from the files on the flash drive as soon as I completed the ugrade.

My other questions to you...

1- How do you get Waze to work? I have the latest Waze app installed, but it does not show up in the Apple CarPlay screen, nor does it show up in the Available Apps when I disable CarPlay while my iPhone is plugged in.

2 - I guess there is an issue with Pandora because when I disable CarPlay, the Pandora app overrides the system saying that Pandora cannot work right now.

Cool. Wrong files will always give problems. Glad you got it figured out for $0.00.

1 - Disable CarPlay in the Settings screen (some folks needed to re-pair their phone to get it to work). Run Waze on your iPhone and make sure it's in the foreground. It must be in the foreground for it to stream video. Plug the phone into the USB port. Go to the "Mobile Apps" screen and it should show up. There's a separate thread all about it if you still have trouble, might give other ideas.

2 - No idea on this one to be honest.

1) MEM_ERR03
2) A few minutes after plugging in the USB after getting the upgrade started notification
3) I have not tried anything yet, besides different USBs and format types. I got the same error when trying to go to 2.3.
4) 2016
5) US

Thank you!

I have updated my sync 3 to v3.0 two months ago. Except the "wifi network available" pop up, everything works fine. This morning it suddenly shows an update. However, the downloading process stuck at 0 forever as shown in the attached pic. What kind of update is that? What new features included? Thanks in advance.

As far as that specific file goes, believe it's Gracenote.

Okay... after a few days of using 3.0, I am encountering these issues:

1. Too many instances of no GPS signal. I only had that problem once in the two years of owning my car (and that was weather related). Now, since updating my system to 3.0, I have had at least three instances (that I know of) of no GPS signal on my navigation system (the red strikethrough symbol through the words GPS). And these are on perfectly clear days.
2. Sporadic instances where CarPlay will not work at all... no detection of my iPhone 8Plus when connected via lightening cable in either of the USB ports. I use a shielded cable (and always have been) since Apple's cable tends to stop working after some time, especially if it is bent a lot.
3. When I do get CarPlay working, and disconnect the phone from the cable, the radio turns off and I have to reconnect my phone.

These are some of the issues I have confronted so far.

Help after Split Install

1) What error do you see? No Gracenote version showing
2) When? After completing split install
3) Have you tried anything on your own to fix it, e.g. install a different package? Nothing yet
4) Vehicle model year 2016 Non-Nav
5) Region, in case your from across the pond/s. U.S.

I also successfully update my 2018 SEL a few weeks ago to the sync 3 ver3.0 and submitted the .xml with feedback saying the file was accepted. However, when I check the tracking of my sync software installed on the owner.ford.com site it shows version SYNC3V2.3 installed Nov 28, 2017......the day my car was built.

I did the update last week and is took a few days for Ford to accept it and show that it is the version report on line.

Can't PM due to lack of posts.
Any help is appreciated!

1) What error do you see? Mem_ERR03
2) When? about 3 minutes after plugging in USB (screen initially says updating software)
3) Have you tried anything on your own to fix it, e.g. install a different package? I'm on 2.2 and had the same error message when trying to go to 2.3 and calling customer service didn't help, so I gave up
4) Vehicle model year - 2016 non-nav
5) Region, in case your from across the pond/s. - US
